A fellow ex colleague commenting on this move states DVT out of gauge via Harlow and possibly between Ketton and Melton Mowbray so even without the engineering blocks may still have to go via a devious route.

Seem to recall when DVTs first turned up on the GEML there were some very severe temporary speed restrictions applied to them, one between Bethnal Green and Bow and another in the Chadwell Heath area. Was it something to do with the suspension?

Wasn't there a weekly booked path for the Mk3/DVT stock via Harlow during the Ipswich tunnel blockade in 2004? Or was that still Mk2/DBSO days?

Remember that service passing through Watham Cross in the Morning hauled by a 47, if memory serves me correct was Mk11 with 86 still attatched

That crossed my mind too but if I recall correctly they were class 47 HAULED and as the promoters of charters / steam specials are finding out the network infrastructure and gauging is constantly changing/ evolving.

Was Mk2/DBSO. Mon-Fri were 47 hauled throughout. Sat/Sun, the 47 worked to Cambridge where the 90 took over for the run to Liverpool St.

Dampers I think. Bridge 40 was 10mph as was Ilford UE platform though most of us forgot so many times & sailed through at line speed  No harm done.
