1Z99 seems to be in Holgate..presumably letting the backlog start to clear before shifting the TPE unit. Although the TPE unit may be able to move under its own power.

edit the TPE did move under its own power
Do you know where the TPE unit is now please? Could it move as far as the depot?

There are not many places between Darlington and York to stash a broken unit
Most likely gone to Doncaster for repair, or temporarily to Heaton. It managed to move on its own after temp repair.

And the area where it happened there are fields with sheep, horses but no cows.

Most likely it was a deer, as if an 80x huts there in just the wrong place in the nose cone, that causes issues with brakes etc.

Animal has been confirmed as a large deer, after the Thunderbird loco has examined the like this afternoon.

My colleague boarded the LNER service at Darlington heading to King's Cross and was sat in first class and the window adjacent to him was broken (shattered) and apparently there was quite a lot of mess and some damage on the Azuma. He said he spoke to the crew who thought it was a deer. Fortunately he only lives about 40 minutes away from Northallerton and after waiting 2 hours on the windswept platform decided to head home. He said that one of his fellow passengers ended up shelling out £400+ on a taxi from Northallerton to Heathrow as he had a long haul flight at 6am the next morning and didn't want to risk missing it...

Can't remember whether the unit numbers were included earlier in the thread, but for completeness - the units involved in the collision with the obstruction were:

1E23 1630 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross LNER 801209
1P33 1554 Liverpool Lime Street to Newcastle TransPennine Express 802216
Seen today that 802216 (an involved unit) is back in traffic. Doesn't seem 801209 is - anyone know when it's due to be back please? And anyone know how long 802216 has been back in traffic please? Thanks

801209 has been back for some time, though it’s (unrelatedly) out of traffic today.
