153310 and 153326 have left the fleet last week for a retirement holiday in the West Midlands and are unlikely to return to the East Midlands.
They are on loan to West Midlands Railway for use over in the Birmingham area but as they are due to be withdrawn at the end of December they are unlikely to return to the East Midlands. To compensate East Midlands Railway got 156503 from Scot Rail. Will these be the first 153s to be withdrawn?
do you know the "answer" to post 298...?They are on loan to West Midlands Railway for use over in the Birmingham area but as they are due to be withdrawn at the end of December they are unlikely to return to the East Midlands. To compensate East Midlands Railway got 156503 from Scot Rail.
No idea what is going to happen to them. Most likely whatever is happening to the rest of the EMR 153's I would assume.do you know the "answer" to post 298...?
If they do, then I expect the rest of the 222s will as well, seeing as they are also due to be replaced in 2022.If the ex-LNER HST sets are to remain in EMR service until 2022, are they likely to receive the purple livery?
The HSTs are not planned to stay beyond the end of next year, which is why there has been so much to'ing-and-fro'ing about whether they would transfer. If the ex-LNER HST sets are to remain in EMR service until 2022, are they likely to receive the purple livery?
I really hope the intercity units stay in EMT/LNER colours, the purple is truly revolting... what are they thinking
I could live with purple as a highlight colour, but the 222 unit is overwhelming and just looks miserable. I suspect the units leaving will remain in current colour schemes and only the retained for life of the franchise units getting a new colour scheme when the interiors are freshened up with new seat covers etc
I had my first ride in the flying aubergine a couple of days ago and it is oh so tatty inside. To think this was used for the franchise launch too. I've alway liked the Stagecoach livery, but I really am very surprised that Abellio don't want to put their own mark on the trains. As we approached Leicester i also saw the 156 in ScotRail colours and soon we'll see EMR trains in red. I don't know what the record is for the number of different liveries for one franchise, but we may be getting close to it when the new trains arrive.
It just seems that the company doesn't value its own brand.

The Scotland's Railway Saltire livery unit is 156503. Not sure the idea behind the white 158's (minus Stagecoach swirls); that may have been answered already.A couple of questions about what I spotted when passing Eastcroft Depot tonight (in the dark!)
A Class 150 which appeared to be in Scotrail livery, has this been transferred in?
A Class 158 in all over white with orange doors, what livery will this be in? (assuming it doesn't retain all over white)
156503 on B exam, it's on loan. 158773 and 774 are white, the former with EMR Regional branding, the latter without.A couple of questions about what I spotted when passing Eastcroft Depot tonight (in the dark!)

I did note this evening that 156410 is now also sporting a nice new paint job. Oh hang-on...it's been tagged by graffiti artists.![]()
Updated the list on post #308158774 is now white with orange doors
