Ah the common sense, old fashioned railway viewpoint.. you won’t last long these days hahahaha
Now that rail revenue all goes to the Government why is ticket acceptance still such a problem?

Well, on the ECML you have three OA operators for starters. If they just took franchise operator's tickets they wouldn't see a penny of it and vice versa. Its a good point, but sadly all comes down to £ over putting passengers first.

The Up Fast currently had a possession on for inspection but the Down is still open at 20mph. Although there is currently 13 trans between Kings Cross and Sandy at the mo not moving anywhere fast

Its believed to be over the points after Sandy where the Up slow joins the fast

30 minute line block of both Up lines while engineers with poles attempt a temp/perm Fix.
Down services are running on down fast.
Ah makes sense. This OHLE situation on the ECML is pretty ridiculous with its consistency over the last few days.

Up Fast to remain blocked to all traction for remainder of the day, all services will use Up slow.

Down slow blocked to electric traction, down fast open to all traction.

9J45 Thameslink service has been sat at Sandy for some time now, with LNER’s 1Y86 sat several signal sections behind. What’s going on?

It's always a problem with the railways that disruption very quickly becomes unhandleable as trains with 700 people on them running very frequently quickly builds up, no way can any other form of transport move that many people in one go.

Sometimes I think (as stated earlier) BR realised this and would know somehow trains need to run to solve it, busses and taxis are just a drop in the ocean.

The dragging of the 91 was certainly an example of excellent practice, as was GC diverting around the blockage.

It did take longer than thought to attach etc at Peterborough.
If line had not reopened the plan was also to haul a return service back south, in the end, the set was dragged throughout to Neville Hill by the 47.

Down slow blocked to electric traction, down fast open to all traction.

I assume for the Down lines you mean the Fast is closed to electric traction rather than the Slow. Several Thameslink services have passed between Biggleswade and Sandy northbound on the Slow in the last 15 minutes, albeit very slowly.

No! What I wrote at the time was correct, why assume I was wrong just because you’ve observed something.

Both down lines are not back open at line speed.

Up fast remains blocked to ALL traffic.
Up slow is open to all traction.

GC only diverted 2 of their services, the rest being cancelled, or heavily delayed.

HT only ran Hull-Doncaster.

Any idea why it took 45 minutes to attach the loco?

1P88 has just passed through the Biggleswade to Sandy section in about 2 minutes.

Any sense of when LNER services will be moving out of Kings X again?

They’ve been departing throughout, however due to the amount of late running trains heading into London and crews out of place, services will be delayed, there is no block on departures from London. The 1800 to Edinburgh has just departed at 1906.

I don't think it has. Apparently, it's sitting in platform 6 and staff are allowing passengers to board in groups of 30 [Edit: This was at 19:09].

Edit: As of 19:12, OpenTrainTimes has showed that it has departed.

Currently on 1N94 north of Grantham, been standing for a while behind 1D81, which appears to have developed or encountered a problem

1D81 (180106) was earlier delayed south of Peterborough with technical issues. Perhaps a reoccurrence of the fault?
