Enhanced Driver Psychometric Test Pass Mark

Hello. If a person was to apply for a Trainee Drivers role at a company that required an enhanced psychometric test pass mark but only managed to pass to a standard pass mark, would this count as a fail overall and count as one of their two strikes?
What I’m really asking is if that person failed to reach enhanced pass level but passed to standard pass level, would their assessment mark be accepted by a TOC that only requires a standard pass?

I'm assuming that in this case you would be told "sorry, you've not reached enhanced level, but you have passed standard" rather than s straight no?

I think it's best to regard the above scenario as having not lost a life as opposed to "passed to national standard". I'm not trying to be pessimistic or anything but I know from my own experience that when I did the tests, the company I did it with (Nexus Tyne and Wear metro) insisted you have to do the tests again even if you have already passed them. (Which is not worth risking losing a life for in my opinion as a fail the second time around wipes out the existing pass!) And Nexus only require national standard as well!!

Having said that the people from the OPC said that a lot of companies do honour an existing pass but the amount of time it lasts varies from TOC to TOC and can be anything from 18 months to 5 years!

National standard is I believe the same for all companies who require it but one companies enhanced level differs from another's (and no one knows what the pecking order is other than a select few who are keeping a very tight lid on it haha)

People on my testing day in 2017 were sent home as they had passed to national, but not enhanced.

I have (to my knowledge) passed to the national standard. I was never told what my mark was.

I have to re-sit the test for a company that requires a enhanced mark.

I originally lost a 'life' prior to passing to the national standard.

Was the life you lost to standard or enhanced. If you have one life left , be careful . If you take the psychometric test again and fail to even standard , it overwrites your original results.

If you pass at standard level, progress to trainee and then successful in the driver grade , does it restrict you later on?

I.e become a driver with national standard, are you then able to apply as a qualified driver to another toc who require enhanced? Does it generally only count for trainee roles?

Generally I believe so.

I know it’s a bit off-topic but if I had a European Train Driving License restricted to shunter driver duties, will I still have to take the psychometric tests when applying for trainee train driver at other ToC’s?

In theory no.

Depending on the TOC you apply for and what your results where for the tests. A national pass or enhanced pass.
