Are the 67s & MK4s passed for the VOG yet?
No, AFAIK there's no short term plan to either. There's plenty of other fleet clearances for the (very small) teams to be getting on with on core routes at the moment.
Maybe one day but certainly isn't at the top of the priority list.

4 sets out but there's a planned swap in the PM, HD04 will work 1W11/1V37/1W23 to get it to Crewe for a heavy exam, HD02 will work 1V31/1W55/1V42/1W96.
Thank you, I'm hoping to get 1V42 or 1V46 from Shrewsbury this afternoon

The December times are in RTT - the 05.32 from Swansea starts at 05.43, loses its Wem stop and arrives Manchester at the same WTT time, advertised two minutes earlier.
;
Virtually every train on the route is differently different - perhaps the wierdest thing being the removal of Craven Arms and Church Stretton stops from the 08.49 from Cardiff as well as the previous train despite the fact they already lose out from the reduced Central Wales service.
;
Or perhaps 1W96 15 minutes slower thanks to Ludlow, Gobowen and Prestatyn calls.

Some swapping round of locos/sets over the next couple of days

67008 and 013 have swapped with 008 moving from HD05 to HD01 and 013 the reverse, HD01 has headed to Crewe ETD for tyre turning.

HD04 will stop at Canton after arrival of 1V42 this evening with HD06 working the rest of the diagram, 06 then stops for a minor exam at Crewe. 04 will then work tomorrows 17:14 Cardiff to Holyhead, where it will enter temporary storage.

Couple of light engine moves too on Friday with 67014 and 015 heading from Crewe to Canton, 015 will then stay at Canton before 014 heads back north dragging 67020 to Crewe ETD.

67016, I believe at present is under maintenance at Toton receiving a new turbo alongside other repairs and maintenance. It's expected, as it stands, to be released to TfW in early October.

1V46 has gone from Crewe via Chester due to a track defect.

Friday mornings lists showed 67008 on 1V31 etc, but 67013 has just been reported on 1W55. I have both locos at Crewe off 1W65 SAT AND WED and RTT has no loco number on 1V31 this morning. Can anyone clarify please?

1V31/1W55 was 67013 & HD05. 67008 doesn't appear to be out today

See post 5285, 67008 and 013 swapped seta, 008 is now at Crewe ETD

Any news on 67016? Last I heard was it was due to be repainted.
See post 5285 too :D it's at Toton and should emerge black after a new turbo and other maintenance

Nothing slow in front of it either...
Not sure why the late start but en-route its Just an extremely busy service with lots of passenger assists booked.

It does seem that since HD02 has returned from it's major exam, it does seem to be behaving a lot better. I haven't seen it fail once yet, minus the day another set took it's allocation early morning from Crewe, but it does seem okay!

Tomorrow, sees a now very rare planned substitution, the first in a long while as HD04 which worked up to Holyhead on Friday is stored as whilst HD01 and 05 are both on exam at Crewe (01 at the ETD for tyre turning but will head back in the morning). HD03 will pick up the diagram from cardiff at 10:52.
HD05 is scheduled to be finished tomorrow so HD04 will run ecs to Crewe on Tuesday to start it's heavy exam.

Current status is:
67014+HD01 Exam/Tyre Turn Crewe
67025+HD02 In service
67012+HD03 In service but out of exam days on Thursday
67017+HD04 Stored at Holyhead, ecs to Crewe on Tues for exam.
67013+HD05 Light exam at Crewe, back on service Tuesday
67022+HD06 Servicable spare, in service tomorrow
67010+HD07 Serviceable spare, in service tomorrow.

It does seem that since HD02 has returned from it's major exam, it does seem to be behaving a lot better. I haven't seen it fail once yet, minus the day another set took it's allocation early morning from Crewe, but it does seem okay!
It has been, the swapping was an error allocation in the first place, it was always planned to have a day at Crewe to have its air conditioning repaired.

Diagram '4.5' should run for the next couple of days using HD03. It's planned to work the 17:30 from Crewe to Manchester and 18:30 back to Cardiff today then tomorrow it's hoped to have it out on the 14:49 Cardiff to Manchester and return. It'll then stop for light exam at Canton. There's still 5 other sets available though.

HD04 is now planned to head from Holyhead to Crewe tomorrow for exam, that should mean all of HD02-07 are out and about tomorrow 02/03/05-07 in service, 04 ecs), the 7th set HD01 is planned spare at Crewe.

Doesn't look the speediest swap.

Hopefully the Northern will recess in Chelford loop to allow it passed.

Thank you. Always appreciate the updates.

Ill be keeping an eye on the part diagram Friday.
No problem.

As it stands it doesn't look like the extra afternoon one is planned on Thursday or Friday but never say never! If HD03 isn't looking like being ready for Saturday, it's likely the spare set at Crewe will be used like has happened today to work the 18:30 to get it to Canton for Sat AM but that's probably the only way it will happen as it stands.

Wow, that's shockingly bad. A new 2hr gap in service northbound from Church Stretton between 0904 and 1104. (There are currently departures at 0925, 0938 and 1035.)

... on top of the 2-hour gaps northbound all afternoon and evening. Not the best way to encourage people to take the train for a day's walking in the area.

Today at Crewe depot (20/8/24) 67014 HD01 82226 and 67012 HD03 82216 wich @sd0733 has mentioned went out around 17:30 to replace 197110.

Also 67008 made an appearance light engine. Don't know where it came from.

The 18:30 from Manchester looks to be a unit today.
It's booked a unit so it will just show what is on the full diagram, it's part of a 197 disgram.
It won't change until later if and when HD03 gets allocated to that half of the diagram.

HD02 is out on the 04:35 from Cardiff. Behaving itself so far.
To be fair, HD02 has been a good performer since it's big exam. I've not come across any real faults with it since.

When does the 18:30 become booked MK4?
