First South Yorkshire bus fares increase

From 2nd January 2012, First are revising prices in South Yorkshire.

First has maintained a fares freeze in Sheffield and Rotherham for over 2 years.

The increase to fares has been kept to a minimum but is necessary to cover rising costs such as fuel.

New Single ticket prices
85p - Now £1
90p - Now £1
£1.30 - Now £1.40
£1.60 - Now £1.70
£1.90 - Now £2.10
£2.00 - Now £2.10
£2.40 - Now £2.50
£2.70 - Now £2.80
£3.00 and above - No change

For single journeys, Stagecoach, Powells and Wilfreda are usually cheaper. But if you are on these buses, quite often people let them pass as they must have some sort of First weekly ticket etc.

First week student 22 is valid on service 22 "the duck" between Rotherham and Barnsley only I believe

In terms of day tickets, there is apparently a £4.90 ticket for
Bus and tram, and £6 for all modes

Not sure if the boundaries are the same for all day tickets
