I hope she gets fixed quickly as she's got a busy few weeks of railtours ahead. She should be hauling a tour from London Paddington to Southampton via Salisbury on Saturday and also has a tour on Wednesday and a week on Saturday.

There will be a lot of disappointed passengers today but of course things things happen, and even new trains can break down. It's quite annoying actually to see people getting angry when they only get £30 back and they've paid £500 or whatever. While I understand why they're annoyed, they fail to realise that the carriages and diesel loco still has to be hired, track access charges paid, catering will still be provided etc, and Steam Dreams are only a small company compared to a TOC so can't afford to give everyone a full refund everytime a steam loco breaks down.

Fingers crossed she'll be heading south tomorrow. I'll be keeping a close eye on Realtime Trains

Why are you annoyed? Those people have paid for something and if, for them, having that loco was key to their decision then all that stuff about having to cover other costs isn't the point for them. Personally, I suspect you and I have the same view, i.e. we wouldn't be that bothered and the train trip and dining etc. are all part of it, but for others I think it's highly likely they wouldn't have booked the trip at all if it weren't for the engine. Given the risk, Steam Dreams needs to be adequately insured.

is the 21st may trip going via westbury or basingstoke

I have been told that the run is Paddington to Salisbury via westbury.
The locomotive will then be head first out of salisbury for the cream tea tour, via eastleigh and chandlers ford, returning back to salisbury head first ready for the return.

Timings for ECS are now in the system.
No timings for tomorrows run however

I wonder if it's possible to work out if she will be heading through Maidenhead on the main or relief line?

They are indeed. There also seems to be a diesel heading over from Castleton (near Rochdale) which is a strange place for it to come from as West Coast are based in Carnforth. Does anyone know why this diesel appears to have been stabled in Castleton?

I'm annoyed at the nasty comments from passengers about a lack of a full refund as clearly they haven't seen the bigger picture. I wouldn't say I wouldn't be bothered. I have only ever been on one railtour whcih was behind Sir Nigel Gresley and all went to plan. I'm currently looking at going to York behind Mayflower in August. If we book it and it is diesel hauled, I will be disappointed and my family even more so. However, it says what is what in the T's and C's and we will still have had a trip up to York and back.

Exactly!

She's heading to Southall with her support coach and there’s a Class 37 on the rear, presumably for insurance. She arrived 7 minutes late at 17:30 but left on time at 17:39 looking and sounding great. I didn't get chance to take any stills, only video on my camcorder. I'll be editing it and posting it on YouTube later. In the mean time, Jon Knight on Twitter got a few good photos of her at Retford: https://twitter.com/Retfordsnapper/s...05581098307585

Assuming the Injectors get fixed, the tour page says it should be leaving Paddington at 08:37am, any idea when it would pass Maidenhad? ( I am guessing circa 9:20am? )

I am heading to Maidenhead to catch her, should be passing at about 09:15am or thereabouts, will find out in the mornign off the diagrams though.

I am hoping to see FS at London Paddington tomorrow morning before it departs, failing that I will see FS go through Reading tomorrow on route to Salisbury.

Cathedrals Rail Tour earlier should departure as 8:38am from London Paddington, this probably means that it will not leave there until about 9am.

Where are the timings? And it hasn't even left Southall WCR yet, so that might hint a few issues...

Edit: Now delayed, not due into PAD until 08:40 which is passed its original departure time to Salisbury.

The only time they'll notice what's pulling them is when they get off! The coaches are still the same so they're getting the same facilities etc!

Apologies I didn't see this before I posted.
