Fate sees Newcastle United drawn against both the Manchester clubs this season in the EFL cup draws.
Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri says that he will not put any more money into the Championship club.
In a statement the Thai businessman said that he took responsibility for all club issues but is unhappy with treatment towards him and his family from some fans.
"From now, I will not put additional money into the club," Chansiri said.
The Owls, who are bottom of the Championship, play Sunderland at home on Friday (20:00 BST).
Not had a season ticket for many years but still get to the odd game. Seems like the entire club is in a mess, but that is what not winning in 8 league games does. From the (albeit limited number of) fans I have spoken to, they don't believe a single word that comes out of the chairman's mouth, including why Darren Moore left. Not a story you see every day...
Sheff Wed owner Chansiri to stop funding club

Any thoughts from resident Owls? (Assuming there are any )
The Friday night 0-3 home defeat by Sunderland will have only added to the problems. Not had a season ticket for many years but still get to the odd game. Wasn't the "EUFA Cup" the knock-off version on Sensible Soccer?A lot of rubbish around today about the poor old players having to play too many games. Seems an annual complaint by managers just as European competitions start up.
Easy solution? Revert to simple knock out champions cup, cup winners cup, and EUFA cup.
Cease and desist all talk of breakaway European super leagues.
Accept lower TV income, and reduce players salaries to suit if necessary.
But, hang on though, don’t 20 man match day squads, rotation, and all the possible subs being used in many games mean players already play less on average?
Duhhh…Wasn't the "EUFA Cup" the knock-off version on Sensible Soccer?
Hyde United also met the same fate, losing 0-2 to a Marine team who seem to raise their game in the FA Cup. They are higher than Hyde in the same league, yet Hyde beat them 2-0 at home recently in the league match.Knocked out of the FA Cup 2 - 1 v Scarboro. A better performance but a dubious penalty and an inability to score in open play cost us - listened on radio as i couldn't go due to train strikes
No worries... your typo just unlocked some nostalgia!Duhhh…
It's certainly looking like it'll be the three that went up, but nothing gets decided at the end of September. The same goes for promotion, and the Championship is famously unpredictable. I certainly wouldn't be counting my chickens just yet!Regarding your last paragraph I'm so glad Everton got beat. They didn't get points deducted last season so them winning last PL game sent us down despite us winning our last PL game (I'm Leicester fan)
Also so great neither Manchester teams won today.
We defo be going back up next season, who will come down I wonder?....
That's a very railway-centric nickname for him...Spurs continue their journey up the league table with Greater Angelou Didn't expect a Liverpool own goal to change their fortunes at the very end. Good to see attacking football being played again after 4 turgid years. The refereeing and VAR was a mess, though
When was the last time that Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton all played on the same Saturday and all four lost?
It really is unbelievable that a so called professional sport has such an amateur system, as you say that really was the worst VAR ever, a complete farce. That Luis Diaz 'offside' was just about the worst VAR decision ever. If that goal stood, as it should, would have been a very different game. Being a Liverpool fan it enrages me, BUT the bigger picture is VAR decisions are getting so bad now, it could cost a team Premier League status, or cause managers to get sacked. It is really bad!
The VAR dcision was actually good - they thought they were checking there was no offside and that was what they found. However, the communication was awful and it is stunning to find that there do not seem to be any protocols in place to ensure that such confusion is avoided. That Luis Diaz 'offside' was just about the worst VAR decision ever. Right. The VAR dcision was actually good - they thought they were checking there was no offside and that was what they found. However, the communication was awful and it is stunning to find that there do not seem to be any protocols in place to ensure that such confusion is avoided.
Surely there is a defined script for this kind of thing?!?!?!?!?!?! There seems to be in egg chasing. However, the communication was awful and it is stunning to find that there do not seem to be any protocols in place to ensure that such confusion is avoided.
For me it was the third worst...That Luis Diaz 'offside' was just about the worst VAR decision ever. If that goal stood, as it should, would have been a very different game. Right.
So VAR was asked 'was there an offside' to which they replied no there wasn't, but on the pitch this was taken the other way?
