50026 arrived today for a limited stay at Dereham and will work trains with resident 50019 'Ramilles' this weekend, which is being withdrawn for overhaul.

The 50s will operate services in addition to the advertised steam hauled trains, with 9466 returning to the line for the start of the 2013 steam season, fresh from its exploits last weekend on London Underground's 'Steam on the Met' event.

And the great news is that NORMAL FARES will apply this weekend. Just £10 Full line Adult Return gives unlimited travel on all the Class 50 and steam hauled advertised services for the day! An absolute bargain!

There are three diesel events to choose from over the weekend of 7th, 8th and 9th June (Wensleydale, Great Central (North), and West Somerset.

For those going to Wensleydale, 20166 has failed , but D9516 may take its place .

It's a shame about 20166, but there's still plenty on offer there and it will hopefully give D9516, which was rostered for a single trip on the Friday only, a bit more work. Fingers crossed for the red pen coming out behind a 66/3.

One for the 'red pen' men. There are suggestions that D3940 could work at the North Norfolk beer festival on July 19th to 21st. It is proposed that it will do shunt releases on the kettle diagram at Sheringham.

The MNR will be holding a Mixed Traffic Weekend on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th June, using steam and different diesel locomotives. Our 'Brecklander' Intercity Restaurant Car will be serving full English breakfasts on the first two diesel trains each day, and on Sunday, our Cream Tea service will be served on board the 1540 Dereham to Wymondham steam service. Also on Sunday, the 13.00 services from Wymondham Abbey and from Dereham will both call specially at the normally private station at Hardingham, where passengers can alight for transfer to the traditional Hardingham Summer Fête. Plus on the Saturday there's a mini railtour (pay on the day) between Llandudno and Holyhead featuring DRS class 20s and a GBRF 66, using the stock and locos from a Cardiff to Llandudno private charter running the same day.

I doubt it is possible to do more than three unless you are lucky enough to be able to charter a plane to get from one to another. It certainly wouldn't be possible by public transport or by car (assuming you keep to the speed limits ! ).

Information on the Nvr steam gala is now on the Nvr website. Confirmed so far is standard 4 tank 80072 and peckett 1438.

The standard tank will also be used for a freight driving course on 6th September (Friday).

The railway will be in opperation on all 3 days from 10-00 till 1700 depending on passengers with 4 locos in operation
Also steam rally with ful size and miniature traction engines, steam lorries vintage tractors and vehicles working displays. Mini Tanks for kids and adults to drive loads of trade and craft stalls including Ravenstone model railway supplies. Model railway layouts for the children and models tent. and face painting and if you bring your dog a dog show as well. Dogs carried FOC on trains if under control
