Currently on 2K38 to Avonmouth and the entire front carriage appears to be out of use. Is this common practice and what could the reason be?
It could be a lot of things, including:
* failed lighting
* unsafe conditions (vomit, faecies, broken glass, other health & safety risk, etc.)
* isolated brakes or suspension (but this is no longer necessary, I think)
* one of the first set of doors needing to be isolated / locked out of use (in an emergency, passengers wouldn't have an exit at each end of the carriage, and no adjacent carriage to egress into).
