Freightliner's 86622 left Crewe on a lowloader a couple of hours ago, presumably for scrapping?

WNXX has reported the 86s as being exported from Immingham Docks so presumably its headed that way. Other 86s should follow soon after

There were rumours when they were stood down, that some might be overhauled for further use. Is this still a possibility, or will they just get stripped of parts and scrapped?

Currently stored. Expected to be scrapped or sold on now they've got the ex Greater Anglia class 90s.

the Bulgarians don’t seem to be expecting it. All the private operators are swimming in power, refresh then to Romania?
It does seem a bit odd. Siemens have been delivering a fair number of their lower cost Smartron locos to operators in Bulgaria in recent times, which have to be a better bet than geriatric 86s.
