I think "Dutch" yellow and grey has to be a favourite, particularly as the 69s spend some of their life working infrastructure trains out of Tonbridge, SITTs etc. You could also argue that the EMU drags are "departmental" based on what BR used to do. Remember those little yellow and black stickers under the 2nd mans windows with DME DCE etcNor Dutch yellow and grey.. Now of the Colas 56s were converted, we could have even more liveries.
I always thought the "Dutch" scheme looked awkward on 56s and 47s. Other classes had grilles and/or windows to visually break up the bodyside expanse of grey/yellow.I think "Dutch" yellow and grey has to be a favourite, particularly as the 69s spend some of their life working infrastructure trains out of Tonbridge, SITTs etc. You could also argue that the EMU drags are "departmental" based on what BR used to do. What do you mean exactly by this?Personally I'd like to see the remaining 69s shopped in brand new liveries, rather than retro / GBRf house colours.
Such as what we see on 014. Or a new scheme altogether. What do you mean exactly by this?
I've said it before and I will say it again, if it is not Regional Railways then they might as well leave it in undercoatAt what point do the bookmakers open the odds for its livery.![]()

Why Regional Railways ? It is a freight / departmental locomotive.I've said it before and I will say it again, if it is not Regional Railways then they might as well leave it in undercoat![]()

Don't take everything so seriously, my friendWhy Regional Railways ? It is a freight / departmental locomotive.
As the other heritage 69s all have yellow ends, I am trying to envisage a DELTIC clone livery with yellow warning panels. I keep thinking of an AM3 Glasgow Blue Train...I’ve given up with HS4000. DELTIC blue with whiskers.
LED headlights wouldn't need a yellow end nowAs the other heritage 69s all have yellow ends, I am trying to envisage a DELTIC clone livery with yellow warning panels. I keep thinking of an AM3 Glasgow Blue Train...![]()
I agree and that's why I'm surprised all the 69s have yellow endsLED headlights wouldn't need a yellow end now
You won't be getting anymore 69s after 016 budNor Dutch yellow and grey.. Now of the Colas 56s were converted, we could have even more liveries.
Oh, I wondered if Colas might like to upgrade their Class 56s.You won't be getting anymore 69s after 016 bud
That is a question for the speculative subforum. And worth nothing that Beacon Rail owns at least five of the Colas Class 56s.Oh, I wondered if Colas might like to upgrade their Class 56s.![]()

Not at the mo, but will be outshoped with the livery eventually. Is there a likely date when 69013 will appear in its new livery?

Might come out with usual GBRf livery with whiskers you know.
As one had said earlier in this thread, there's only two more
Class 69 to be converted and then that's your lot.
Just saw 69016 on Flickr, looks like it is ready to go soon. The last two appear to be nearly done - recent photos show 69015 looking pretty much complete apart from the bogies, and 69016 has been outside the shed looking complete.
