Would the question be better in the passive tense, as she was only kept alive on life support following a head injury, and became the donor of the world's first successful heart transplant?
She was the first person to donate a heart for transplant. I will leave the grammatical debate to others.
Please give us the next question.

Who was a notable inhabitant of Lake Lucerne, Orlando, during the early part of the 20th century, being a thoroughly bad boy? Legend has it that his mate, Sally, took a fancy to another, and he drowned her in a fit of rage

Is the right answer.

Billy and Sally were ordered by Charles Lord to grace the lake, and Billy soon got a reputation for his ferocity. A pair of black swans introduced at the same time had to be relocated after Billy's constant attacks. He was liable to go for almost everyone and everything - even cars, especially during the nesting season.
When Sally Swan disappeared, and was found drowned, he gained another nickname, Billy Bluebeard
When he died, he was stuffed and mounted. He still exists, although in need of specialist restoration

I assume that the 'QI buzzer' answer is Egypt, so I'll say Indonesia.

Which renowned author -- "flourishing" as at a century ago -- had a great fondness for islands, living on a variety of them during life-span (including being the leasing tenant of a couple); and wrote a novel telling of comical wartime shenanigans at one of the venues on the list -- and was also a keen supporter of West Bromwich Albion F.C. ?
