Due to a rather serious shortage of trains and staff, the train operating company Eurobahn currently has two hired in sets of locomotive hauled coaching stock in service.

The RE3 (Düsseldorf-Hamm via Oberhausen) currently has a mix of Euro-Express (type Am, declassified) and TRI (one Bduu, and some type n, including an ABn and a Bndzf) rolling stock and 145 088 for traction.
Hamm end
11-80 024-6 Am 036 (FK, owned by Euro-Express)
11-80 022-0 Am 036 (FK, owned by Euro-Express)
11-80 021-2 Am 036 (FK, owned by Euro-Express)
84-33 282-6 Bduu 497.2 (BSO, owned by TRI)
22-35 833-9 Bnrz 450.3 (SO, owned by TRI)
31-34 182-1 ABnrz 418.4 (CO, owned TRI)
80-35 141-6 Bnrdzf 483.0 (DBSO, owned TRI)
Düsseldorf end

The locomotive is currently always at the front of the train due to software incompability with the driving trailer
Timetable (the set is running on the trains with the 24xxx numbers):https://www.eurobahn.de/fileadmin/redakteure/dokumente/Ersatzfahrplan/RE_3_Ersatzzug.pdf

The RE78 currently has a Centralbahn set formed of three Bm, one Am sandwiched between usually two class 110 locomotives.
Timetable (the set is running on the trains between Minden and Nienburg Mo-Fr untill the the fourth of January): https://www.eurobahn.de/fileadmin/r...n/P2257_RE78_nienburg-minden_november_01d.pdf[/SPOILER]

Trust that to happen just after I come back from a week staying in NRW! :( Did manage to cover the 111 + n-Wagen peak-hour turn on RE8 (Köln-Deutz - Kaldenkirchen), but given the amount of people who were out photographing/filming it I get the impression that it may have finished with the timetable change?

Well, you had very good luck then. In the last couple of months, the service was often cancelled or ran with 425s. I think it is now booked for plastic junk.

It only ran as far as Mönchengladbach Hbf, and was the loco and only three coaches - no driving trailer!
