Think the original Strata was B21F, then they made a PLUS version at B26F but those OTS ones look huge!
They are inside as well, like a Tardis really, my last guess was pretty low remembering the interior it would certainly be around the 30 mark at least

Nick left sometime ago.
First contribute a significant amount towards the running costs of the visitor centre.
I'll take your word that Nick Hood has gone from the visitor centre, as the web profile accompanying his holiday accommodation business doesn't mention his departure.Neither does it mention his departure from the Chairmanship of the Penzance and District Tourism Association, which happened in October last year, although he remains a director. He also chairs Penzance Business Improvement District, even though his business is located well away from it.

All this is a prelude to saying that the Welcome to West Cornwall Visitor Centre, ideally located opposite the entrance to PZ railway station and between it and the bus station, remains firmly closed with no information as to when it will reopen. A notice on the door invites a visit to their Facebook page, to which I have no access! Their usual Summer opening times show differing times. and even days of the week open, on other tourism or general Penzance websites. I can only assume that while National Trust properties remain closed then the NT run visitor centre does likewise, which is pretty rum imo.

So, there is nowhere as far as I can see that either FK or GCB timetables are available in Penzance at present. The public library used to stock the Cornwall Council composite bus timetable, in theory anyway, but the library has only reopened to the extent that you may collect books by arrangement by coming to its door, but no further.

TfC timetables - the only places I have seen the timetable books are the travel shop in Newquay bus station yesterday. Truro bus station waiting room is now open (but you must wear a mask in it). They have TfC timetables but you have to ask for one (they are being rationed). No First Kernow timetables available yet but they should be available very soon.

I walked past The TfC office, nothing obvious that it’s open to public but The door was wide open, and a clear enquiry desk visible. Nothing to advertise it’s presence as being open though

AFAIK Penzance Bus Station is owned by Cornwall Council, though run by First Kernow. As FK chose to close their enquiry office there a while back, and it appears not to be used for anything else currently, I feel CC should take it over, if only on a temporary basis, for distribution of timetables (when available) for both FK and TFC and distillation of information in an unbiased but KNOWLEDGEABLE way. If they want volunteers, I'd be prepared to offer my services for a few hours a week, assuming that the loos are permanently open again!

I am pretty sure that the old enquiry office at Penzance was converted to a drivers facilty and is still used as such.

Still is a slightly larger drivers rest room. Previously that was VERY cramped for the numbers in there, whereas the ticket office was very large.
Now it's one big unit with a separate supervisor space.
The ticket office lady was transferred to assist at Truro.
The Camborne ticket office is now the staff training room.

To be fair, it's to FK's credit that they have any travel offices. Decreases in revenue as stuff like holidays and coach tickets are booked online plus increased business rates have made it very difficult to justify them. I used to like the old Newquay office on East Street!

Don't know if I've been unlucky but I was surprised that Camborne didn't have somewhere in the bus station to get a timetable.

Sometimes there are a open box of timetables outside the office door in Camborne or you could knock and ask for one.

It’s the training room, cpcs, new starter inductions etc. Welfare/canteen is at the rear of the building.
Fair enough. As I say, I thought it was some sort of welfare facility with drivers entering/leaving so hence wouldn't normally knock on the door.

Camborne bus station was a bit shabby last I was there. Has it had any cosmetics? I know it's not the greatest priority but given the ceremonies that they had a few months ago (e.g. St Ives), was wondering if they'd spent money on the passenger area there?

There was/is a rumour that the Council wanted the bus station for development, but finding a convenient town interchange was impossible/difficult, as First also wanted space for maintenance, etc.
It was then suggested somewhere in Camborne for an interchange only, with the maintenance part being moved to Scorrier.
Not heard anything more recently.

Yeah, I know that it had been rumoured and it is a rare town centre bus depot and possibly ripe for redevelopment; in that respect, you aren't going to spend huge amounts but did wonder as FK have creditably spent some funds on refurbishing the facilities at St Ives and for staff at St Austell. Hadn't heard about Scorrier.....perhaps they could use the council facilities

Before it was rebuilt c.1992, it was planned that the Greville depot would be used and the Camborne site redeveloped IIRC.

Enviro 400 fleet number 470 withdrawn with Major upper deck damage after they tried to take it under the Texaco garage canopy at Scorrier. There’s an outside HGV pump at this garage with No canopy at this location.

How major is it? Presumably must be considerable for it to be withdrawn?

It's a PCV, why use the HGV lane! I assume the canopy also had issues! It's a shame Plymouth have already got an open top from that batch, perhaps they could swap it with one of the e400s that First are converting!
