They're running it commercially. They didn't have to bother doing anything.Quite honestly an appalling and pathetic excuse of a token replacement service !!!

Does the operator have double decker vehicles ? Haven't seen any recently around Penwith. Think the demand will overwhelm capacity in August with that timetable initially ?They're running it commercially. They didn't have to bother doing anything.
Yes, loads of double decks in the fleet.Does the operator have double decker vehicles ? Haven't seen any recently around Penwith. Think the demand will overwhelm capacity in August with that timetable initially ?
The TfC timetable book for April is now online:

Of some interest is new route 7, a limited replacement for the Lands End Coaster between St Ives and Lands End. Summer half term and school summer hols only, four return journeys with the first one starting at Penzance, running via Marazion to St Ives and Lands End and the last one journey in reverse back to Penzance.
There is - look at the timetable itself. On the maps and index, there is also a route 7A, but there doesn't appear to be a timetable for it![]()
The 11 has virtually been cut into two sections with a gap between them yet both are shown on the same timetable. But, at the same time, the 12 has been split into the 12, 76A and 76, some journeys running through and some not, also shown together but very confusing. The middle section isn't even shown on the map now. Why is the western part of the 11 not renumbered?Showing service 11 on one timetable when there is now a gap with no buses in the middle could be confusing. Surely one of the now seperate sections could have been renumbered
For those people who start those threads who want to travel across the country by bus, it now seems getting across Cornwall will be pretty difficult as there is a line from Fowey up through Bodmin moor that is only crossed by some infrequent services
A cut that seems to have snuck in that wasn’t entirely clear previously is with the 21 & 25 between Newquay and St Austell, there is basically now only one bus an hour between these points rather than the previous two.
I wonder if there are some seasonal errors, as the Eden Project services only mention being run in the summer holidays, no mention of any service in May half term. On the opposite, there is no mention of the short U1s being term time only. I wouldn’t expect they would be running in the summer holidays.
Finally I still think after all these years it’s a shame there are no maps of local towns, the old Cornwall council timetables used to show town plans
We are simply returning to the networks that came about following cuts by the old Western National back in the early 1970s. Liskeard to Bodmin was if I recall always a gap as was Liskeard to St Austell. It is perhaps surprising that Boscastle to Lanson has as many as 5 a day.The 11 has virtually been cut into two sections with a gap between them yet both are shown on the same timetable. Quite a lot of other changes, although some areas are not impacted. The rural area around Camelford has suffered quite severe cuts with fewer buses from there to Bodmin and Port Isaac. The 21, 22 and 25 have changed to a complex mixture of 21/A and 22/A cutting one bus every two hours west of St Austell. Also the 26 from St Austell to Bodmin is reduced from hourly to two hourly.
As @Andyh82 says, there are few buses crossing a north-south line between say Boscastle and Fowey. The 95 through Boscastle has 6 buses per day, 4-5 per day on the 97 between Camelford and Launceston, the couple on the 11 between Bodmin & Liskeard (plus the train), one 482 a week from Polperro to Bodmin and 4-5 per day on the 481 between Polperro and Polruan - then take a ferry to Fowey.
I thought the 90 to the Airport had gone and been replaced by a 94 Truro to Wadebridge?A positive change - service 94 giving a Truro to Newquay Airport bus every two hours (approx) during the day.
Yes, Lostwithiel was bus less for years apart from a weekly (non-WN) Bodmin run. Let us hope we are not going back to completely abandoning North Cornwall as WN did either! We are simply returning to the networks that came about following cuts by the old Western National back in the early 1970s. It does a double run from St Columb Major to/from the Airport on its way from Truro to Wadebridge. Seems to add 15-20 mins onto the running timeI thought the 90 to the Airport had gone and been replaced by a 94 Truro to Wadebridge?
My recollection going back that far was that Liskeard was even more of a desert with no buses even to Plymouth, Looe or Callington. I think there was a service along the north coast from Tintagel to Bude but not a great deal else. Services now are still a lot better than those times, as are the trains. We are simply returning to the networks that came about following cuts by the old Western National back in the early 1970s. Didn't there used to be an X1 from Plymouth to Penzance? My recollection going back that far was that Liskeard was even more of a desert with no buses even to Plymouth, Looe or Callington. Good point. Renumber the Plymouth - Polperro as the 72 and have Padstow - Bodmin as Service 10.Showing service 11 on one timetable when there is now a gap with no buses in the middle could be confusing. Surely one of the now seperate sections could have been renumbered
Timetable World has the Devon county 1979 timetable and shows there was a WN 520 service running twice a day from Plymouth to St Austell, with Plymouth to Looe every two hours (ish) and Exeter to Bude (4 journeys - Jennings) and not much else.My recollection going back that far was that Liskeard was even more of a desert with no buses even to Plymouth, Looe or Callington. There was for a short while, even using Olympians.Didn't there used to be an X1 from Plymouth to Penzance?
