Is this passing the SJT? If so, which depot?
No, this was passing the stage 1 assessments and for Southend Vic

Congrats @Brick79 and @mimoma. Good luck with the next stage. Fingers crossed they’ll be in touch soon with a date.
Thank you!

The Premier Inn is only a short walk from the test centre, so highly recommend staying there.

Also, maybe they’ve got heaters in now, but when I did my assessment back in January it was so cold I could see my own breath inside the building. Was incredibly distracting.
Thanks, that’s where I booked!

Does anyone know how good recruitment usually are at replying to emails? It’s been a week since I sent an email inquiring about why one of my applications says withdrawn, though I haven’t withdrawn it, and I’m still waiting on a response.

it depends on whether you emailed the specific recruiter or the noreply email. If it was the latter you might not get a response. Unfortunately it can be hit or miss getting replies if you haven’t progressed to the next stage given the volume of candidates.

I emailed the recruit@ email that it gives you at the bottom of the account page. I just want to know why one of my applications says withdrawn when I haven’t withdrawn it. It says to contact them if I believe it’s in error.

Is it a recent one or the one from April?

Just received an email saying I passed the SJT for Southend Victoria depot + mainline and am currently being “held in a pool of applicants” awaiting further notice.

Also got notification too, for mainline Colchester. In a holding pool for 6 months but with no guarantees due to high number of applicants. It’s one step closer than yesterday so I’m over the moon. Good luck to everyone else that heard today too. Hopefully they’ll be in touch soon enough with dates for the next stage

Hi all, first post here this forum is very new to me but I've been a rail enthusiast for some time.

Back in Novemberr I applied for the trainee mainline driver role based in Colchester and was promptly sent the SJT to sit.

I had an email today to say I have passed the SJT but I will now sit in a talent pool awaiting the psychometric tests.

However, due to the number of applicants they cannot say when or even if I will ever sit these tests.

Does anyone know if this is normal? Should I hold out hope of actually getting the chance to sit these tests or will I be forgotten about? It seems a strange recruitment process to hold people indefinitely in a talent pool if there isn't even space for them to progress.

Appreciate any help!

I applied for that and had an email yesterday saying I had passed the SJT. Pretty sure you get a response pass or fail so make sure to double check your spam folder.
yes had an email asking me to book in for stage 1 assessment, exciting stuff. seems somebody at GA was busy yesterday!

Passed the SJT for Liverpool Street and Illford. I applied on 9th Nov for both jobs, SJT on 11th Nov and I got an email back on 16th Dec saying I passed. The email was sent from a recruiter in the company

I have had same email saying I passed, but this part in the email strikes me as worrying

Please be aware that we cannot guarantee that your application will progress to this stage due to the volume of applications received and that the requirements for each location advertised can and will vary thoughout the year.

The recruitment process for trainee mainline/depot drivers differs to the process for most other positions as it requires several stages for a candidate to complete in order to meet the required industry set standard as well as it being a continuious process as we recruit for various courses throughout the year. This is why we will not be able to provide specific timescales on when or if you will contacted to progress to the next stage
.

That’s states to me we will not get a further contact or am I wrong?

The email states you have passed but it’s worrying?

I have both written and computer and MMI tests in the bank but will this progress? Who knows

I hate to break some bad news.....every year for the last 3 years, I have applied for this role, passed the tests, then after 12 months, you get the "we are closing your application and reapply next week for a new recruitment drive for trainee drivers".

Honestly, just carry on applying for other roles and don't look too much into this.....

Yep I was thinking this even with the assessments in the bank still doesn’t put you infront of anyone else

Will just keep applying but I have heard this about greater Anglia

Who do you work for now?

Is that after passing both assessment days or just the original SJT?

From the last thread for greater anglia trainee drivers from April this year applicants received an email saying "From 1st of November consider existing apps basically void unless advanced past the assessment center stage with them." I'm guessing those who pass SJTs and psychometric but don't get given further chances to progress are held in a pool whilst the others who have only passed sjt are disregarded. Still I'm only guessing though, maybe they shut down those applications to start this new wave.

Guess so

Even us all have all the assessments written MMI and pc - can’t get anywhere it seems?
