Are today's runs cancelled? Thanks in advance.
Are today's runs cancelled? Thanks in advance.
Which town?I passed it on my way into work this morning, I'll admit the diesel gen sets are quieter on the outside than I had seen in videos so far. Also a surprising sight - it's not often we have a 319 based unit pass through the town!
ROG 26/07Might that Eastleigh working rescue the orion one from Winchester en route?
Has been cancelled with 37884 heading through wolverton northbound on its own.Does anyone know which unit is being delivered to Reading from Wolverton today?
TIA

Edit:
Just noticed its supposedly cancelled now
Believe the Monday morning one only made it to Wokingham then had to come back home.Very much in keeping with the will they/won’t they success of the GWR 769’s I’m reporting that on Monday 26/7 I witnessed a 769 on diesel power departing Reading around 9.15 from the far platform heading east presumably to use the underpass beneath the GWML to get on the Reading-Wokingham lines. Do we know if this test run was a success?
769928 pencilled in for arrival at Reading on the 28/07.

Thanks for this. My solitary brain cell is failing me on this - this is a case that 928 moved to Reading from Burton and then something else has moved from Reading to Eastleigh?0R98 dep RT

Believe it has been said there is a shortage of stabling space at Reading. Thanks for this. My solitary brain cell is failing me on this - this is a case that 928 moved to Reading from Burton and then something else has moved from Reading to Eastleigh?

Have they finished test running on the North Downs Line? If so, when's the latest expected date for them running in service there?Yeah I've seen that.
I was more seeking clarity with regards to what was on each of those workings yesterday. 928 on the Burton to Reading and 769??? on the Reading to Eastleigh?

It doesn't appear that test running on the North Downs Line has finished. There are paths in place for tomorrow.Have they finished test running on the North Downs Line? If so, when's the latest expected date for them running in service there?
looking at the mods gwr are doing to the units i would say next years timetable change! It’s not test running it is mileage accumulation
Each unit needs to do a bunch of miles before it is accepted into the GWR fleet
Driver training likely won’t start until after the summer
Thanks for that. I think I'll make that trip along the North Downs line as soon as my Senior Railcard arrives just to get out for a day.It doesn't appear that test running on the North Downs Line has finished. There are paths in place for tomorrow.
It was suggested elsewhere that traincrew training won't start before September.
Seems unlikely they would be in service until close to the end of the year - Autumn is not a good season on the North Downs Line in any case so it might be advantageous to wait until December before introducing them there.
Given the small number that have actually done the whole trip, I would imagine not!Have they finished test running on the North Downs Line? If so, when's the latest expected date for them running in service there?
