Not sure if this is the correct section so please move it.

I have been told about this link: http://http://www.heathrowrail.com/

Links to a page for something call the Heathrow Southern Railway (hoping Govia aren't involved!), which basically sounds like the old Airtrack scheme. The diagram is somewhat interesting though as it makes no mention of Heathrow Express, shows Crossrail as possibly extending to Staines and Western Access to Reading shown as a standalone service, along with the bits that formed the Airtrack idea, I think.

It states this is a privately funded project. Is there any truth to this scheme as it doesn't mention any backers or is it just someone's school homework project?

Broken link - here it is again http://www.heathrowrail.com/

It looks to have been initiated following this Network Rail feasibility study produced this time last year, with news articles appearing early 2016 and even securing a Commons debate in October (see Hansard).

Given the sparse information and that the route diagram has Crossrail into T5, I (currently) doubt the authenticity of this scheme.

While it would be of immense convenience to me, and the issues of overly-long waiting times at the many level crossings along the route, which scuppered the original Heathrow Airtrack proposal have been addressed, will TfL be happy to have (eventual) competition to their shiny new train set that also serves Heathrow?

Thanks for correcting my link....too many https it seems!

TfL will probably just want to take over the whole shebang anyway ;)
