Hereford to Birmingham

Afternoon, just wondered if any 172s now work Hereford to Birmingham services, or are they still mainly 170s for the time being? Looking at the next couple of services from about an hour's time?

I cant see exact allocations for WMT but there are 2 diagrams showing as 3 car, 2 as 4 car so presume 2 of each. The 3 car diagrams can only really be 172s are on the 14:50.and 15:50 from New Street if that helps.

The 15:50 (1V30) produced a 172 on Thursday if it helps?

As BHM-HFD is only worked by Worcester crews a 172 can in theory work any service vice 170

On Friday I travelled on 172 344 on 1M67, the 13 41 Hereford-Birmingham. However the two trains that we passed in the opposite direction - at Ledbury and somewhere near Worcester - were both 170s.

Normally, the 0845 and 0939 Hereford-Birmingham New Street services are 172/3. Which should put them on the 1050 and 1150 back to Hereford, the 1239 and 1341 back to Birmingham and such like. Weekends I think it's more or less the same on Saturdays, last Sunday I know the 1202 Hereford-Birmingham was a 172.
