After my very enjoyable Pullman dining service on the GWR, as its the only mainline service that I know of that serves cooked meals on the train.

Is there any comparable Pullman services on heritage lines that is almost as good obviously with decent track mileage to make it worthwhile.

Both the Kent & East Sussex Railway and the Bluebell Railway offer a Pullman service.

Something similar on the West Somerset Railway

and the North Norfolk Railway

the North Yorkshire Moors Railway

the Great Central Railway

the Severn Valley Railway

the East Lancashire Railway

and perhaps others. I guess the offering is a little different in each case and the travel is slower than on the main line railway but still hopefully a worthwhile experience.

Pullman dining is also offered on many mainline steam (and diesel) tours.

Thanks Jonathan,

Easy Lancashire Railway is nearest to me.

The others could be incorporated as part of travelling round the country.

Did you experience them personally ?

No, unfortunately not but I have seen people turning up for some of them and they seem well attended and staffed.

Clearly they represent a good way for the respective railways to make money. If they werent worthwhile and well supported the railways wouldn't bother.
