A vacancy for the above post has arisen at our Bristol Railport. This is an exciting opportunity for those wanting to work within a small team at a developing location, which is driven specifically by customer needs. The Post is safety critical and will involve shift and weekend working. The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to working hours and enjoy a variety of duties to be performed to ensure customer needs are met. The main duties of the post will require the ideal candidate to operate a variety of mobile lifting equipment, mainly consisting of Reach Stackers, Empty lifters and counterbalance forklifts. You will also assist in train preparation duties and be required to perform shunting duties. In addition to this you will be required to process vehicle traffic through the rail port and be prepared to assist in basic container preparation functions. Full training will be provided for the right candidate who is willing to demonstrate a flexible approach, a high standard of workmanship, in a developing environment that is designed to meet our customer’s expectations. It sounds like a bit of a jack of all trades role, which in reality probably means doing whatever needs to be done at that moment. As it appears to be a new role in a new location, it may be difficult to find out how much the salary is until you are some way into the recruitment process.
