There was a thread on WNXX about this earlier this year, "mark hallett" posted that there'd been HSTs to Saltburn

If these are all true it'd be nice to see some photo's of such events.

I wouldn't mind seeing a photo of a HST at Saltburn, I'm struggling to imagine it

There was a thread on WNXX about this earlier this year, "mark hallett" posted that there'd been HSTs to Southminster, Sheringham, Whitby, Llandrindod Wells, ........]

I've done Llandrindod Wells by HST on a railtour, Pathfinder in conjunction with SWMLS Co. from Yeovil, from memory about 15 years or so back? It was a FGW HST. I guess there must have been more than a few HST railtours along that line over the years .....

We had lay-overs at Knighton (planned) and in the loop at Llandeilo (unplanned - late running service train) as well as Llandrindod Wells that day. The chippie in the centre of Llandeilo that night had a somewhat unexpected influx of around 300 customers ....

Another railtour from Exeter & Yeovil using a FGW HST ran to Bridgnorth, and was routed via Westbury, the Melksham line, Swindon and Gloucester - it was the first HST to traverse the SVR. All I can recall was that it rained unceasingly all day, the River Severn was in spate, and the return journey was heavily delayed at Swindon due to (waterlogged) track circuit failures. From hazy memory, Bristol-Bordeaux was one of the power cars.

Of the three South West Wales branch lines west of Whitland, I know HST's served the Fishguard Harbour services up until about 8yrs ago and run on summer Saturdays to Pembroke Dock, but wouldn't be able to say whether or not one has ever visited Milford Haven?

I have seen a photo on fotopic of a hst at Haverfordwest . I believe the Current 07:30 Carmarthen - London Paddington & 17:45 London Paddington - Carmarthen used to start from/work to Milford Haven at one time.

There's a photo of one "off the beaten track" http://hanschowdhury.fotoblog.co.uk/p54702965.html

I remember when i was younger and more involved in the hobby that there was a charter company that ran a number of specials to far flung corners iof the network using HST.

Hertfordshire Railtours used to take HSTs out and about. I've been on one of theirs up the S&C and then down the line through Clitheroe and Blackburn.

I'd suggest one's never been to Southport.

I think back in the days of Virgin Cross Country an HST did run on the Brighton Mainline as a replacement for a locomative hauled train prior to Voyagers being introduced, didn't it?

That's not on the current "network" though is it? or we could list almost all preserved lines?

Didn't they run one up past Greenford last month on the Paddington - Banbury via West Ruislip and Haddenham ( using Old Oak West Jct ) as part of the route learning ahead of the forthcoming diversions?

I have a feeling that they have actually been to Queen Street at some point, not sure when though.

Glasgow Queen St or Glasgow Central Low level:lol:

Pretty sure both have been done by the NMT.

I have a feeling that they have actually been to Queen Street at some point, not sure when though.

Again, the NMT. Also the previously mentioned Kings Cross - Queen Street trains.

I also recently learned that with the latter, A4s visited Queen Street too.
