If you miss the last train of the night what happens?

I'm looking at taking the 1500 from Manchester Piccadilly to carmarthen I've noticed these trains can regularly gather a lengthy delay. i would have a 10 minute overlay between that service and the train to pembroke dock. if the delays on the Manchester service caused me to miss my connection would tfw have to provide a taxi or the like as onward travel?

In principle yes, you should be conveyed by taxi, or potentially even minibus or coach if there's enough passengers. It's not unknown though unfortunately for TOCs to argue that they have no obligation to do this, especially with split tickets (of course the right to onward transport exists even with split tickets, the same as through tickets). As such, I'd make sure you had enough funds to pay for onward transport in case the TOC claims they don't have to pay for it, and be prepared to get in contact with Customer Services after the fact to claim back any funds owed.

You must stick to the minimum connection time (MCT) at each station on your journey - MCTs can be found at brtimes.com. In this case Carmarthen has a MCT of five minutes, with your itinerary allowing twelve minutes so you're covered. Also as a side note, the Carmarthen train leaves Piccadilly at 15:31, just so you can avoid any excess waiting at Piccadilly

They should do.

Personally, if your train to Carmarthen is delayed en-route and looks as though you will miss the connection to Pembroke Dock I would mention it to the guard on the delayed train so he can hopefully contact TfW control to perhaps book taxis prior to your arrival.

You could always send a Tweet to TfW, they usually respond quickly, not necessarily with the correct answer though!

the excess is to grab some grub also thanks for that tip basically ill need about £60-£80 for a taxi for if things go well not to plan but hopefully tfw do provide a taxi.
