Is Jewellry Quarter part of Birmingham stations?

My girlfriend has a southbound off peak return from Birmingham Stations to use today, but it would be slightly more convenient to board at JQ. I would suspect that a Birmingham Stations ticket would be valid (even though JQ comes before the three "main" Birmingham Stations), but I just thought I'd check for her.

No, only BSW, BHM and BMO are Birmingham stations. JQ is in zone 1 so it's possible that nobody would notice for the one station to Snow Hill.

I am on a Thumper in NI at the moment so unable to check but I am certain it isn't! She is entitled to an over distance excess which must be bought before boarding unless the ticket office is closed in which case it can be bought on board.

I am sure Birmingham Stations consists of only 3 stations.

A return from Jewellry Quarter cost the same though. :s Thanks anyway, I shall inform her to walk to Snow Hill instead, I think the excess thing will just confuse her (for the sake of a small walk - she doesn't really know much about ticketing).

If it is a walk up ticket (ie not Advance), it depends on the destination. If you provide that, and state whether she intends changing in Birmingam, at Smethwick Galton Bridge, or elswewhere, then we may be able to provide a correct response.

I guess I should have been more clear, but she's already set off from Snow Hill anyway. But out of curisoty I'll give the details to see whether she actually would have been valid or not.

The journey she had a ticket for is Birmingham Stations - Banbury off peak return. It turned out she would be in Jewellrey Quarter around the time she wanted to depart. It literally is a case of whether he ticket allows her to get on at Snow Hill or JQ (the stop before Snow Hill I believe). It would have been the same train with no changes that goes all the way through to Banbury.

Is it an off peak day return (formerly cheap day return) or off peak return (formerly saver)?

In that case, the fare paid is £16.00. A Jewellery Quarter-Bandbury cheap day return is also £16.00, so, assuming it is open, she could've gone to the booking office at Jewellery Quarter and asked for an over distance excess, for either or both portions, which would have cost £0.00. If the booking office was closed, she could have obtained said excess on the train.

There's lots of discussing and points being made in this thread, but the original question was about validity of the ticket from Jewellery Quarter, to which the answer is 'NO'.

The OP was saying it would be more convenient for the ticket holder to board at the previous station. The advice was on how to do that without having to buy a new ticket (possibly only useful for next time given the trip has now been made). Why's that a problem?
