Italian Customs Police - Strange movements?

Just watching Flightradar24,and the above Force are cruising an area from Zeebrugge-Dunquerke-Calais and down to Boulogne and down to area not far from Abbeville.
Been doing this for several days.Any body know why ?.

That is pretty much exactly the area of the coast from which people are launching small boats to cross the channel.

Following a court case, France has a legal constraint against operating their own surveillance flights. They need to draft and pass a new law. Maybe they have found a way to get Italy to do the flights for them.

The Italians have also had to develop a certain degree of expertise in such surveillance off their own coast in recent years. That makes them ideal contractors!
