Not surprised Edinburgh has had a couple of hours of torrential downpours and Arthur's Seat got a few lightening strikes. Quite dramatic really.
No-one was able to board at Stirling, the train reversed at Falkirk Grahamston and went back to Edinburgh, reversed and then to Perth via Ladybank.Yorkie, I guess you are on the train, did you get a lot of people join at Stirling to head to Perth via Edinburgh? I guess it would be fairly busy with all the other trains that haven't made it north.

Is that looking North or South?

I'm glad I decided not to head to Hampden for Dundee's game there tonight...I'd have been dumped in Perth!
Wishing I was buried under that landslip just now, tbh.Bet your glad you never went at all after that result....![]()

As michael769 has said above, the mess at Pitlochy was passable this evening, thanks to several NR personnel on the ground (or should I say, on the mud).Currently saying "Trains are now running normally between Perth and Inverness following a landslip near Pitlochry.."
Hope this is right as I'm on the Chieftain out of Inverness in the morning, with my usual split tickets !
Just passed the northbound Highland Sleeper at Tomatin, at 08:15How are the sleepers doing? They really have had a bad time this 'summer' with all the delays and cancellations.
I don't think there is!but there's something to be learnt from this episode about where tickets are split !
As for being allowed via Edinburgh, I don't think EC would have been a problem, but SR from Glasgow to Edinburgh might have been (irrespective of whether it was split or not)
There is a local easement allowing tickets to Livingston South to be valid at Livingston North (and vice-versa) at any time (not just during disruption) so I'd be surprised if a ticket that included that validity but also went beyond, to the next station, was not included!I have been allowed to use my Season between Edinburgh and West Calder to travel to Livingston North (my nearest station on an alternative route) on several occasions when the Shotts line has been disrupted.
If the split was Inverness - Stirling, Stirling - Edinburgh, then it's clearly valid on the train when diverted to avoid Stirling, as it was originally booked via Stirling, and the passenger is travelling to a destination on that service without a need to change trains.have had this problem with the Stirling split, or rather my mate has. Again an EC Diversion at short notice, he was bustituted from Perth
