The Southern 313s are starting to wind down.

The 777 agreement means that 507/508 withdrawal can now start.

The 315s are no more.

The 455s some of which contain ex 508 trailers theoretically have replacements lined up

Which will be the last type of PEP derived vehicle in passenger service?

Place your bets!

PEP = ???
Prototype Electro Pneumatic. The SR 3 letter designation for a small number of prototype units that then led to a number of other classes. A reasonable explanation is here:
“The 2-Pep and 4-Pep units were prototype high density units developed in the early 1970s with the distinction of being the last to carry the traditional Southern Railway/Region classification. When developed, the subsequent builds were the dual voltage 750v DC/25Kv AC class 313, the 25Kv AC classes 314/315 and the 750v DC classes 507/508.”
