Kalborough is very very loosely based on Peterborough, the tracks, the odd building, the fact preservation rolling stovks passes here to a preservation station I.e. Nene Valley, we of course use Goathland station, therolyseshseedaddressing,do not look closely at the extra wide tunnel!

I read this earlier @Jaz avalley but didn’t have the time to comment.
It looks really good and there’s some quality weathering going on there.

That station really interested me when I saw it in your other thread @Jaz avalley and so it's nice to see more photos of it. I don't think I've seen a model of Peterborough, or stations based off it, before. The bridge in the fourth photo looks really cool, as does the trackwork. I expect it's a lot of fun to run trains around!

Thank you both,we did consider trying a pure LNER but you always end up wanting to run EVERYTHING so this was the compromise, there is also an East Kalborough but we have never quite confirmed how we want it so it is mostly buildings trading in and out until something becomes Eureka.

as you can see a maintenance yard is favourite, but a abandoned station comes a close second, although the abandoned one can fit elsewhere,so the maintenance area is likely to win out despite the permanent one behind the Art Deco station. The area has not even been ballasted just in case we change our mind, but to be honest I do not see us changing it.

I don't normally comment on this section of the Forum but... WOW... those are some brilliant pictures - the first few are particularly strong - I'm really impressed/ envious/ amazed at the details and dedication - well played!

At first I thought you were showing photographs of actual trains, not models!

the first area is an established area so has received much more attention the later area is more a needs to be decided what will sit there per mantle then be finalised, then it gets the full treatment

thank you very much :D we do try to get it as real as we can, I focus on certain parts blur others, place scenic details in front of any give always like basic wagon that have not yet had decent ladders in place, weathering often helps with the smoke and mirrors effects

Peterborough is a great station I have taken loads of reference pictures, rolling stock of course but loads of detailing to bring the area those lesser seen touch ups

we also benefit from velux windows and natural sunlight, you can get those hazy pictures naturally

advertising boards are popular and easy to make I did buy a couple but plan more home made ones, I also have an Easter egg of graffiti murals these represent other modellers I have been friendly with, you have to get at a certain angle to see them otherwise they are invisible.
