It was Bank, yes. Your floor.
Thanks for the floor, here is my riddle:

My first is in Aspley Guise, though not in Amersham
My second's in Barking, and likewise in Dagenham
My third is in Alsager, though not in Nantwich
My fourth's not in Great Yarmouth, Acle or Norwich
My fifth's not in Pegswood, but in the next two north
My sixth is in Dovey and Junction and Borth
My last is in Whatstandwell, Spondon and Beeston
My whole far from the Mersey, though not served by Southeastern.

Have fun!

Garston?

Open floor if so.

(Fifth letter is just I,N or T with that clue I think.)

Where my keyboard has no £ key
Nice reference in the clue to Merseyside, which used to have a Garston.

Next riddle ......

My first is in Carstairs and Carpenders Park,
My second in Clitheroe, but not in Cathcart.
My third is in Wimbledon and Warrington Bank Quay,
My fourth runs at Ascot but not at Aintree
My fifth is in Kendal, Dunkeld and Edge Hill,
My sixth is in Camberley and Bardon Mill.
My seventh is in Walkden and Imperial Wharf,
My last in Kingussie, Duke Street, Ulleskelf.
Bring a bucket & spade and you'll very soon see,
There's plenty of sand here, but not too much sea.

Hi All,

Just to poke my head around the door, I've had a few concerns as to how the quiz is progressing brought to my attention from others. I just want to clarify that, as it has always been the case, any stations in England, Scotland & Wales are permitted, this does not exclude other rail systems such as London Underground. These are permitted.

Please can I ask, however, that clues and riddles remain posted in English...

Ta muchly!

Danby is correct. I thought that clue 4 would have been more ambiguous; a rather large mistake! :D

Your turn.

A trip to Denmark, this time...

My first is in Copenhagen, but not Øresund
My second is in Horsens, Herning, not Næstved
My third isn't in Aarhus, or Hjørring or Glostrup
My fourth is in Greve Strand, as well as Odense
My last is in the third, but just in the first
My whole's off the rails. We're south of transportphoto. :D

I asked DasLunatic, and he said the answer is Arena, which fits. However, Prees also worked, bar the final clue, so I think the puzzle was too ambiguous. Arena also isn't a station, it's a tram stop! I think that must make it an open floor.

Can I take this opportunity to ask that everyone takes extra care to make sure their puzzles are unambiguous, correct, and solvable. I know errors can creep in - the first draft of the very first puzzle featuring Habrough had an error in it! - but some people spend quite a while trying to solve these and it is a courtesy to them to keep clues accurate.

In particular there is a consensus that clues should use only using UK stations, and certainly should be in English!

As always, if you have any issues with a thread you can contact a quizmaster or, if you need to, another member of Forum Staff.

I didn't even know a station called Prees existed!

My first is in Opole, as well as in Słupsk
My second is in Racibórz, but not in Pruszków
My third is not in the first, nor in the second
My forth is in Białystok, in Olsztyn and Leszno
My fifth is in Szczecin, yet not Sidorczuk
My last is in Warszawa. It's also in Wałbrzych.

Symbols are their own letters. ł IS NOT l.

Those are not UK stations, could you please post a puzzle that uses only UK stations.

What if you want to do something other than stations? How about it be nothing in other languages (including stations).

I am glad this game is back though.

That's absolutely fine, our apologies for that confusion, as the example in our opening post shows, you may use any clues you wish (within reason) as long as they are posted in English! Hope this clarifies things

You can tell I'm not with it today...

Replace Brampton with Shiplake and it should be OK.

Ah.

Pitsea?

Tricky working out that third clue with lots of options, of course there is a G in Woking...

Open floor if correct.
