Problem under investigation at present, but a friend of my wife is on the train (1722 1E91 LIV-SCA) says the train has hit something. Roughly 5 minutes through York.

Bustitution for other services between York and Scarborough.

Although it's not my area, AIUI 1E91 was terminated short after 1E90 reported hitting an object at Haxby, confirmed as a large dog. Line was closed for some time because it could not be established if it could have been a person.

1F71 15:08 NCL-LIV was stuck over a broken rail at Skelton Bridge. XC 1V96 reported a rough ride and following 1F71 was asked to examine the up fast line at Y326 signal. Nothing was seen but a big bang and thump was felt when front bogie passed over an unseen track defect and brought to an immediate halt. Driver found substantial break in the rail and couldnt go any further until S+T authorised it. Evac plan was put in place but not used in the end. Terminated York 91 late. Block required on down fast for repairs to be carried out and all traffic diverted on to up and down slows. Delays affected VTEC, XC and TPE services as a result. Back working of 1F71, 1E79 (19:12 ex LIV) restarted york 21:09. Conductor took names and addresses of all parties on board and gave away the catering supplies!

1E90 16:22 LIV-SCA reported hitting something at Haxby level crossing. An extensive search found the carcass of a substantial sized dog but no human was found with any connection to the dog. 118l SCA with 1E91, 1F94 and 1F85 all terminated or restarted short. Ironically 2 pax off 1F71 were on board 1E90!
