I am planning a trip from Nuneaton to Liverpool ( James Street) using RailUK Tickets

I can't select James Street as a destination, only "Liverpool Lime Street, Central, James Street or Moorfields"
The timings on the itinerary only show Nuneaton to Lime Street

Is this ticket valid between Lime Street and James Street?
If so, will I have any problems using the E-Ticket on my phone on Merseyrail?

A ticket issued to Liverpool Stations is in principle valid to all of the stations in that group, i.e. including James Street. Of course if it's an Advance or routed such as to exclude Merseyrail then it would be different.

I can't comment on whether you are likely to encounter problems in practice, perhaps others have tried it. If you did have problems we could of course help you pursue any overcharge/denial of travel.

I used a Liverpool Stations E-Ticket for a trip from Rugby to Liverpool on Merseyrail last week, with success. An interrail ticket was also presented at the same gateline without any issues.

It will be a combination of off-peak day returns, so not an advance.

To be honest you could walk it in ten minutes. It is fairly rare for passengers to alight on the "towards the water" platform at James Street for this very reason.

If you have a concessionary bus pass for England (senior / disabled) then you could use the 10A bus for free, which goes from Lime St to James street without any of the buggering around with lifts / escalators.

Yes, instead you get the "buggering around" trying to find the right bus stop if you're not familiar with the area.
