Seems to be a return to the scrap moves now its determined TFW have what they need, there's no additional LNER spares wanted and Grand Union don't seem to be proceeding with their mk4 plan now. On the latter note, I say that on the basis that it's gone quiet and there's not going to be the vehicles to go with the suggested 93s unless they wait 2 or 3 years potentially.

Even 2-3 years before anything became available for Grand Union would be optimistic. It would rely on LNER actually getting the funding for the new trains they're doing a tendering process for, and then the new trains arriving and entering service on time, something that rarely happens in the UK! I would not be surprised to see the remaining 91+Mark 4 sets last until 2025 on the ECML.

Thought that LNER were going to retrieve some stock from Worksop to form another set?

That was suggested some months back but I've no idea whether it happened as I've not noticed anything since on the subject. For all I know the set is still in existence.

Thanks for this useful list.

Based on the fleet status given in message #1295, we don't appear to have scrap moves from Worksop for the 25 following coaches:
10303-19-20-29
11219-81-83..327-29-30..405-10
12216-27
12317-18-19-21-22-31
12445-45-71-88-522
Though message #1298 said

but this was not subsequently confirmed.

Very probably these 25 vehicles have been dispatched for scrap, but can anyone confirm when and where they went?

Thanks in anticpation
Has anyone confirmed the demise of these 25 coaches?

I have the following coaches still spare at Worksop:

TOE (B): 12209 12229 12230
TO (C, D, E): 12410 12415 12417 12423 12443 12453 12468 12526
TOD (F): 12308
SV (H): 10307 10332
PO (K):
POD (L): 11309 11316
POS (M): 11409 11414
DVT: 82204 82206 82210 82218

And three spares donors at Doncaster: 12305 12480 12486. Everything else either sold to TfW, on lease with LNER, or scrapped.

LNER could scrape a ninth set together, using two POS vehicles as with NL16. But I suspect if this was going to happen, it would have been marshalled and sent off to Wabtec by now.

I agree with this list except that I have 10305 still at Worksop and 11309 scrapped - but I could be wrong!

I have 10305 as TfW Spare, Also what is the status of 12202 I have it at Worksop.
I believe 12202 was designated another spare TSOE for LNER, at the same time as they took on NL16. I have it down as at Wabtec, but possibly wrong.

Agree on 10305 as TfW spare.

12415 seen on lowloader south on M42 on Thursday March 10. Can anyone confirm if this was Newport bound for Sims?

Thank you. Hopefully someone may be able to shed light on this move.
Can’t help with where it was going as it was about the same place as I saw it but I followed it for a short while. Gangway doors open, could see right down the middle.

Possibly for tfw. But only from a local source off mine recently said tfw was after a few more including odd one or two for spares.
But again only local speculation only.

Not sure what’s going on with 91130, worked down to Kings Cross from Leeds yesterday afternoon, didn’t return as booked, sat in platform 6 all night, now 67007 taking it back to Neville Hill, which only made it just out of the station and is now blocking access to platforms 1 to 6.

edit. On move shortly after I posted this

Train failed, no power. No resource to rescue last night, hence why it’s this morning.

Cheers as I suspected, failed again this morning I guess?
Upon departure from Kings Cross this morning the train came to a sudden stop blocking platforms 0-6.
A fitter joined train, and it moved forward.

WNXX says arrangements for 91103,91104 & 91108 to be disposed of at Rotherham.
Hopefully there won't be a total destruction order on them. Booths are usually happy to sell parts on... not that those 3 locos actually have much left on them in the first place!
