I check Virgin Trains, Cross country, East midland trains, Northern rail and London midland trains career websites on a daily basis as I want to work within the railway and these are my local TOC's operating at Crewe and Stoke

However for some reason London Midland vacciancies site never seems to show any jobs up is this because they just haven't took anyone on for months or is it an error? Also when I try to log in it just comes up with this complicated error page blah blah I know my log in details are right because I've tried a wrong password and its said wrong log in details but when I use the correct details it just doesn't work and it never has ive been registered with the site since September and it hasn't worked once

I was just wondering does anyone else have this problem?

They did take on a load of platform assistants about 4 or 5 months ago, so they're probably just not looking.

What I learned from applying is: If you've had multiple jobs in a short period of time (believe it or not, this is actually beneficial in some industries), have limited customer service experience and would be taking a sizeable pay cut compared to your current job, odds are they won't be interested

That'll be because railway training is lengthy and costly, and they will think you will leave.

Absolutely, I can see how it reflects badly on me for a long-term role. Unfortunately it's just the nature of the beast - in my market, you have to move around to make a success of it. I wouldn't do that in a different industry, but of course I can't expect them to take a chance on me either.

It's entirely fair enough :)

You're sure your assessment is at NMP?? The old training room no longer exists, and the one up on floor 2 (AFAIK) isn't suitable for assessments........

Are you thinking about the old station building, that doesn't exist anymore, or the new one? ;)

I thought training, assessments etc had gone up to 102, but may have changed now the new station is open!

Unfortunately, Maps has stopped.

The old one is just a door in a wall now, with nowt behind it. Up on floor 2, there is, allegedly a training suite, but us mere mortals aren't allowed up there. Assessments have always been done at 102 as far as I know.

**Correction** even the wall isn't there now...............

I have previously been registered although that now no longer works. I have registered again this afternoon, and received a confirmation email, but then when logging in it says email and password don't match, so click on forgot password, enter the email address and it says not found in the system.

Mega handy really as want to apply for the Platform Assistant Role at Tamworth but can't!

I have contacted them via the website to sort it out, although I have a feeling this shall not occur before Friday's closing date :(
