'London Terminals' meaning for a Kettering- London ticket

Sorry for the probably obvious question.

Going to London this Sunday on an early EMR train which has far too much time in the timetable and normally arrives into Luton Airport Parkway about 10 minutes early. There's a Thameslink we could change to (just for the fun of it), to take us into London.

Which stations count as London Terminals for a Kettering to London Super Off-Peak return? Obviously St Pancras, but what about Farringdon? I assume West Hampstead Thameslink doesn't count?

But if I had a paper travelcard, I can go anywhere right without alighting?

Travelcard includes unlimited travel in zones 1-6 as well. So, yes, anywhere in this without alighting.

West Hampstead Thameslink fine on the London Terminals ticket because it’s on the route to a valid terminal, you can break your journey there.

Super Off Peak Day Travelcard from Kettering to/from London Zones 1-6 would be valid on a Sunday and cost £46.00 (before any applicable railcard discount) and would also offer a degree of flexibility. Might that suit?

Old Street, Moorgate, King’s Cross, Saint Pancras

Old Street, Moorgate and King's Cross are not valid terminals from the southern Midland main line. Euston probably is, via Bedford and Bletchley (although not any help on a Sunday).

St Pancras and Euston (via Bedford and Bletchley, not that this is any use to you as there's no Sunday service on the Marston Vale line).

You can also break your journey (i.e. stop off, and/or start/finish the journey) at intermediate stations to St Pancras or Euston if you like, such as West Hampstead Thameslink.

Farringdon isn't a London Terminal, so you would need a London Thameslink ticket (which is valid to all stations between St Pancras and London Bridge or Elephant & Castle), or a Travelcard, or an Underground Zone 1 ticket (which is "interavailable", i.e. valid on the Thameslink core section).

But if I had a paper travelcard, I can go anywhere right without alighting?

I don't know where the app is drawing that information from (I can't see anything to that effect in the fares data), but it's incorrect. Break of journey is defined by the ticket type and restriction code.

(Super) Off-Peak tickets allow break of journey by default. It is only barred if this is specifically stated in the text of the resriction code.

The Super Off-Peak Day Travelcard has restriction code ST, which as you can see on the NRE site, doesn't have any break of journey restrictions.
