If you’re not currently employed I wouldn’t worry about the re-org - it is minor as far as CSAs are concerned, and as @Mawkie says mainly affects supervisory grades.

However, there is a pause on movements until it is implemented, and this will also include any new starters - you can’t put people into a station role if you don’t know where your vacancies are! Most of the finalised rosters are already out there, but there are still a few loose ends to tie up as part of TU consultation.

Once complete I would expect things to start gearing up again, both in terms of those waiting for start dates and for a new application window. I don’t think it will be as long as some are suggesting (I do have a little bit of insider info here) but I won’t be drawn to a date. As I’ve said many times - these processes take as long as they take, and anyone wanting a long and illustrious career with LUL is best to learn the art of patience as soon as possible.

Hello,

Sorry to jump in on the CSA thread, but I was wondering if you might know whether this also affects new RCO starters?
I received a conditional offer for the RCO role back in August, and in January, I was told I’m on the waitlist with no start dates currently available. Just wondering if there’s any hope of getting a start date after the re-org is completed?

Apologies again for intruding, thanks

The short answer is no, and I don’t think it is helpful to go into the longer answer on this thread.

at the minute, long and short is no. RCO grade *should* be at full quota of 60 after the next batch come through ashfield. That being said, without too much detail, there is currently a couple who are moving on, so there will be vacancies coming up.

sounds like you’re in the talent pool so i guess it just depends on how many leave, and where you are on the list as to when your name comes up. when rci internally comes out later this year i think there’ll be quite a few rco’s wanting and or getting that so again more rco vacancies.

If it helps I waited for about 8 months until I actually started. I do want to echo what others have already said about the moves that are happening across the underground. So the wait may be a little longer for those still waiting.

Believe when I say that it is most certainly worth the wait. Where I am based, you deal with different scenarios everyday and due to that reason I have fallen in love with the job. I say this now, it may change later ahaha, but it is most definitely worth the wait and the company you will be joining is like no other.

I’m 7 months in so this is actually a bit reassuring!
I am very excited to get started and would love a busy station

Congratulations!!! You must be very excited!! Good luck!!! Keep us posted on how you get on with the training.

Did you have to do the DBS and medical again ? Is that already booked now that you have the date in place?

Training is 4 weeks

1&2: in classroom
3: at your station
4: back to classroom for TMS training* (or stay at station)

*depending on the amount of people in your training class.

Congratulations, I'm September 4 so I'm still far from getting my dates - probably be waiting until July/August by the looks of it unless there was a drop off of candidates around the time I had my assessments (hopefully the bulk of applicants were the June/July offers)

Good luck with the training and not long to go, hopefully others start getting their dates soon!

Congratulations on getting your long awaited start date!

I spoke to them last week, I’m June offer CSA1 night and been told its very unlikely i will get offer for May, most likely its going to be late summer.

Have you had your medical yet?

my guess is there's really not a major need for night staff
its probably one in one out at the moment

There’s a lot of night vacancies in stations at the moment so I’m surprised it’s taking this long, I think it’s more to do with the fact they have a long wait list and are prioritising the full time over the part timers
