No. Local authorities decide the school terms and they are usually set months, if not years in advance. For example Angus and Dundee have had their two weeks now, and go back on Monday (19/10). Fife were a week later. FWIW, I don't think it's going to be much of a "circuit-breaker" either, Sturgeon has already hinted at the restrictions being extended beyond next Sunday.

However, this is entirely irrelevant to Lothian Group discussion, and there's already a thread created in the Coronavirus sub-forum relating to the latest Scottish restrictions: https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/new-scottish-covid-19-restrictions-07-10-2020.209983/

Indeed, this particular subject is entirely off-topic :)

School holiday dates have always varied in different parts of Scotland and most councils produce a calendar which is available for public consumption on their respective websites. If anyone is really desperate to debate holiday times, the "General Discussion" section of the forum is where to go.

Is Lothian (or Lothian Country) taking over E&M Horsburgh's 40/X40, I've heard some rumours on this subject.

If so is it getting extended or increased in anyway?

I have not seen it mentioned anywhere official online so i'd imagine its here-say - specifically, id imagine re-tendering wont be taking place during the pandemic.

in the very short search i did, there's no mention on the West Lothian Council, VOSA, Press, E&M's or Lothian's websites

Any rumours of E&M upping freq. i'd imagine would take place in another thread as they are not associated with Lothian.

I thought it was a load of tosh, thank you for clarifying:)

Appears 158 has moved on to MP Travel in Warrington. Screenshot of a debranded 158 en route to it's new owner on Twitter, for a description of the attachment.

i knew there would be more than the 30 singles leaving with the arrival of the Evoras. 30 new singles, the loss of the 20 & 63 (10/11 TVR) plus the curtailment of the 12 and withdrawl of 6 & 61 meant that around 45-50 singles would be made redundant

136-166 have vanished off the finlaysmith website so you may well be right.

Not sure how many of the 112-135 were left along with the RIGs so what would the sum of all those vehicles be does anyone know?

101-107 (RIGs), 112-132, 134/135 = 30

Does anyone know what the new double deck buses that are coming next year are?

From a different thread but;

Lothian also re-affirmed the order for 98 new vehicles, a combination of largely B8L Enviro400XLB's and some B5TL's and i believe B5LH's with the conventional Enviro400 bodywork. On top of that there's also the outstanding order for 4 Enviro400 bodied BYD's.

Lothian are trying to improve their company image by renewing their fleet where as they should be focussing on fixing their drivers attitudes towards customers. a lot have a horrible attitude, but not all of course. Don’t want it to come across as rude just making a point.

Charming, a point poorly made and put across but a point nonetheless I suppose.

When I was just a visitor to Edinburgh I found alot of drivers quite intimidating - infact the first time I used a bus I took the ticket too soon and the driver accused me of breaking his machine. Refused to allow travel even though I'd paid the full day ticket fare in cash, made a show of showing how the ticket roll wasn't in place and the machine was 'broken'.

It was only when I told him I also drove buses and used the exact same machines - and that he his show was just that and he didn't even attempt to feed the paper back into the machine he sheepishly offered me an overpayment receipt but still wouldn't allow travel. Had to go to the Waverley shop to exchange the voucher for a ticket and make a complaint. All he had to do was feed the paper back in to clear the message saying the printer had jammed to issue our tickets.

I've also had problems using my staff pass on LCB services when not in uniform - I'm often greeted with 'you can't use that here' or 'how far are you going? Bathgate? Nah you can't use a ridacard to Bathgate'. Always amusing when I scan it anyway and it comes up as staff  - never had any issues using ECB though.

Ive personally used Lothian for years almost day in day out and ive come across a handfull of rude drivers at most so you must be exaggerating or be really unlucky. Majority just do there job quietly and get on with it

Exactly, every workforce has a few bad eggs that doesn't mean all 1700+ drivers are bad - that's lunacy.

If you speak to the People... Everyone in any company are rude and useless. One bad apple soils the bunch.

Lothian are a strange company, from my experience the drivers are either at two extremes, most are insanely friendly and very helpful while others can be very rude and not helpful at all. It's strange because there's no in the middle like most other companies, it's one or the other. I wonder if driver moral is different depending on the depot as it's usually drivers on the 22 where all the "rude" drivers seem to gather, certainly i've spotted that's very much the case at Stagecoach here.

Agree, that's why there needs to be an emphasis on the fact that it's only a very small minority who are rude. Sadly much of the public tend to ignore that fact and will just claim that all drivers are rude, which is clearly not the case. It's also a stressful job, although imo that doesn't excuse rudeness.
