I only properly digested all the changes last night. Looks like Rosewell is the main loser from the changes. I don't really understand why they can't just extend 31s as well from Polton Mill to Rosewell every 30 mins as they would get rid of most of the complaints then. Rosewell is a still a reasonably small place but given the recent new houses on the edge of Roswell,a frequency cut to every 60 minutes in the evenings and Sundays is particularly strange and bad.

Or they could have extended the 31 and had the 46 terminating at Polton Mill.

My trip proved fruitful in finding 997 - on the 7 today of all places! (Stumbled on it rather early on in my trip by chance!)

Not so lucky with 999, which wasn’t out at all.

Is this the first instance of 997 venturing onto the 7? I can’t seem to find any photos of it on anything other than the 23 or 24!

Sorry if this has been discussed already, but what's up with this apparent one-off listing on bustimes.org?

Run by Lothian Buses in ECB territory, only on Sunday 28 May 2023. "Free shuttle bus service".
This runs yearly during Edinburgh Marathon closures. East Coast Buses also operate a free C124 service from Aberlady to North Berwick.

Honestly I am so confused, how come the 30 is not using the A1 to go to QMU? is it to keep the service for Newcraighall into the city?

Disapointed that the 400 is getting cut on a Sunday in frequency, it’s always busy whenever I’m on it.
As I'm due to stay at Newcraighall Premier Inn again I am relieved that route 30 will continue as a link into the city centre from the south. Route 49 takes a lot longer but could be helpful for Leith and another bus to Newhaven to ride the new tram extension.

It would have been good if the bus changes and tram extension had started on the same day.

It’ll be interesting to see if there are any fleet movements. It would be nice if Longstone got some XLBs for the 3, 25 and 44.

Now that North Bridge is open both ways, does anyone know if Lothian are going to issue timetablles and maps again?

I don't think East Coast buses would be able to cope with the extra 13 buses required. I doubt the depot has the capacity for it.
That’s why I think that Lothian need a depot in Midlothian; it would help with the services running there.

Does anyone know why Lothian have kept the 46 and 48 yet East coast buses still has 140/141?

It's only a matter of time, as stated above I doubt they have the capacity currently but given time and if Lothian decide to get a garage in Midlothian then I could see ECB getting the 46/48.

And completely unrelated but it should go without saying that ECB and LCB should be paid the same rate at the city drivers, if Lothian is one big family then they should all strive for equality.

I agree. They should all be paid the same.

And how are you paying for that?
Lothian should treat all employees in the same job equally, unless there is a specific reason as to why they get paid more in the city than in East Lothian or West Lothian, I don’t see why they should get treated differently.
