That was not something I had on my bingo card
Welcome back from retirement 905 & 906

These upcoming changes must be quite something if not only 15+ busses have been returned back to service but we are also expecting 25 new ones with little leaving the fleet
Don't forget the extra 25 new buses in the Autumn. Maybe even more expansion!

I don’t think we will see the full 25 new electric bzl right away, heard they are having issues getting batteries

How is the technology of these batteries coming along? Still early days. Edinburgh is a hilly city with a lot of starting and stopping. Will the new buses be up to the job? I suppose 291 etc have been OK

They are installing the battery chargers right now at Central.

Apparently 928 is in Madder.

Would anyone be able to tell me how busy the 74 is at Stoneyburn when heading towards Livingston on a Tuesday at roughly noon? I’m wanting to record a journey on it & want to get the upstairs front seats but I’ve actually never been on the 74 on that stretch, let alone board it.

Unsure what's with the BZLs, but a recent Linkedin post from Matt Goggins, Assistant Director for Bus at Liverpool City Region Combined Authority did say:
Firstly thanks to Sarah Boyd for taking the time out to show us the excellent Lothian Buses in Edinburgh - a great business delivering high quality services and social value to the people of Edinburgh and its surroundings. Good to see plans well underway for 50 EVs to be introduced over the next few months.
..which should rule out any rumors that these have been delayed or part-cancelled.

Apparently 928 is in Madder.
Seems like it. Really unsure as to what the logic being used is now. 926-928 in madder but 929/30 in white? I can only consider the option of 929-931 (should 931 be painted white) being moved to Lothian Country at a later date..

Why were 926-931 numbered in the 9xx range instead of following on from 301-329 in the 3xx range?
Some of the tour Olympians were in the 350s fleet number range meaning they would clash. They were freed up when the 11 plates arrived and for 951-960, they probably didn't want them going into the 400 (with Bus 400 being an exception). At the same time though they did renumber some of the Edinburgh Tour Olympians but that's the most viable reason.

926-936 received different fleet numbers as they were unbranded, thus a continuation of 876-925.

301-350 when new were all branded. 301-325 for 26 Connect, 326-350 for 22 Connect.

Why this then got flipped on its head for 351-400, 937-950 and 951-960 I’m not sure.

Most likely to ensure that fleet numbers ended at convenient spots, e.g. 301-400.

Nowhere near enough to a Pacer :(
Maybe a few weeks to airport bus and tram prices, the latter perhaps coming down even only at certain times to give McGill's bright bus something to think about, but I think they need to be very careful what they do with single and they tickets prices as they don't want to be accused of being too expensive and I think aware that not everyone of their passengers he's a student, pass holder or cash happy tourist.

Surprisingly, the 30 is now more frequent in post-covid times than pre-covid times!
Also worth noting the massive increase in seating capacity. Pre-covid when the service operated on a 12 minute frequency with the Volvo 7900H's there was 170 seats per hour, compare that to now on a 10 minute frequency with the Evoras where they are now offering 294 seats per hour.

Wasn't it every 8-10 minutes before COVID? I don't have the timetables to hand to check but I thought I remembered it being the most frequent route out of Longstone?

They only just changed the fares last year, doubt they will do it again this soon.
With inflation in the 5% to 10% range over the past year they may not have much choice. No reason why bus fares shouldn't be reviewed and adjusted annually, just like regulated rail fares.

How do you know that?
4 more Eclipse2’s are joining Marine’s fleet, taking the number there to 20. The 46/48 currently have a PVR of 14. A frequency increase to every 20 minutes would take this to 21. It’s possible Marine could gain say 39-41 in order to have enough buses for this to work.

Option 2 would be to covert the 45 back to single decks and use them there but I don’t think this is very likely. Marine would still need 39-41 anyway if this were the plan.
