Asking for a friend who will be visiting Wales in April together with her mother.

They will be arriving at Manchester Airport on Tue 20.04. at 0925 and travelling to Caernarfon, so by train as far as Bangor or possibly Llandudno Junction (LLJ) and then on by bus.

Their return flight will be on Sun 30.04. at 1750 so they aim to be at Manchester Airport by 1550 at the latest.

Would they be able to buy a Two Together railcard at Manchester Airport station? If so, what would they need for that?

They're fine with waiting an hour or three at the airport after arrival (especially as they don't know how long it'll take to retrieve luggage and find the exit and railway station) or arrive early before departure. (But if the connection is too early, there may not be a bus from Caernarfon to get them Bangor/LLJ.)

What can you recommend?

Thank you!

Yes, from the station ticket office. They'll need to complete an application form which should be available at the station. However they might wish to save time by downloading the form, printing it out and filling it in beforehand - the form is available via this webpage.

Note they will need a passport sized photo for each of the two railcard holders.

Nothing else is required.

Thank you!

Are Two Together railcards also available for people with an address not in the UK? I've downloaded the form and there's no space for "country".

Yes they are available, there's no requirement to be a UK resident. The form is just a bit small-minded! I'd just write in the country after the town name. Not that anything is ever going to be sent to a non-UK address anyway. (Also, there's no requirement to show any proof of the address.)

Lovely, thanks for the confirmation!

If the flight is punctual they should make the 1036 direct to Llandudno Jn (which connects on to Bangor).
On the way back it looks like the 1217 VT from Bangor, Crewe 1350/1413, Wilmslow 1429/50, Manchester Airport 1505.
Or change at Chester and Manchester Piccadilly to arrive at much the same time.
There are no ATW services through to the airport on Sundays, nor Crewe-Airport on Northern.
The airport station is a bit of a trek from all the terminals, particularly from T3 which involves a weird route via T1 to the main bridge.
T2 is closest/simplest.

Go to Bangor as there's 4 buses an hour from just outside the station to Caernarfon getting of at Llandudno Junction will just complicate matters.

The off peak return from MiA to BNG is £34,10 each using Two Togethar Card so they will save a small amount by buying it. They'll be flexible then and able to go south to Crewe and pick up a direct VTWC service to Bangor going via Manchester will need two changes there and again at Chester or Llandudno Junction.
