With most TPE services being 6 carriages now, Northern 3 (when they run) and most EMR’s being 4-6 car, is it fair to say that this issue is now resolved?

When did as many carriages per hour last traverse the Hope Valley- project Rio?

The first TPE South service from Liverpool today was still 3 coaches with lots of standing. It's always full. Over most of the week there is sufficient capacity and will be for next few years.

You never know. Former passengers who deserted the train, might see that extra capacity and use the train again.

This morniing the first Northern train out of Sheffield was the 3 car 10.17 that was well.loaded. Shortage of crewing volunteers to run more than 1 in 3 this morning and afternoon.

It was preceded by TPE's 3 car 10.14 that was full and standing. Not 6 car.

EMR's first westbound at 10 41 was 6 car, full and standing.

Users have been put off by stories of cancelled and over crowded trains so that's not a true reflection of demand.

The issue is certainly not resolved. It won't be until all 3 operators are able to run all their trains at full lengths, that's 6 car on fasts snd 3 car on stoppers, every hour and on time.

When that happens there is more potential demand currently choked off by the unstaisfactory services. How much we won't know until we get to that happy state when all 3 TOCs do run all their services at full lengths and to times.

Sundays aren't particularly representative of the overall service for already well-discussed reasons. I believe the foundations of a respectable service are in place, at last.

I'd agree on foundations. I'll reserve fuller judgement until about Easter when performance can be more fairly assessed.
