Northern at Manchester Victoria and Piccadilly are under ex First North Western conditions so Sunday is outside the working week. I don't know what the shifts or link structure are like these days but the rest day pattern repeats over a 3 week cycle.

Week 1. Monday/Tuesday.
Week 2. Wednesday/Thursday.
Week 3. Friday/Saturday (including Sunday off).

Thanks

So a northern driver advertised 4 day week/35 hr week is not included in that or the salary

Overtime on the sunday which is committed is classed as overtime and would be in addition to the salary they are offering

So really the 62k salary is more than 70k when sundays are factored in

Correct, although if drivers don't want to work them they don't have to if they can be covered, although this can be hard as the rate for a Sunday is less than the rest day rate for a weekday, and for those that work them it ends up being an average around a 37 hour week for 70k.
That's interesting, when did that change?
Has been the case for many years. It's guards that have Sundays outside and voluntary, which is the reason for the current reduced timetable.

Should be noted that Barrow and Blackpool depots have drivers that are on ex TPE conditions and Sundays are part of the working week. Not the case for Manchester depots though.

Thanks, I must have got my wires crossed.

Does anyone know on average how many sundays a month northern west drivers work committed sundays?

Sure I read it was 1 in 4
