McNairn Coaches (Glasgow)

I was wondering if anyone could help with this.

McNairn Coaches run a service 212 every hour and a service 212B every hour, however these appear to operate an identical route with an identical timetable (212B offset by half an hour)? Is this correct?
So the route actually has a bus every half an hour?

If this is correct what is the purpose of running/registering as two separate routes?

212B; started on 15th Aug 2022, yet 212 started on 16 July 2022. Looks like they didnt want to have 30min service during the Summer holidays .

212b actually starts / terminates South Circular Road, Coatbridge whereas 212 starts / terminates at Monklands Hospital.

According to the timetable the 212 is a spot subsidy; the 212b is a commercial service.

Timetables are available for their new hourly services from 23rd October.

As mentioned in the SPT thread, McNairn's are replacing the 34/35/49 from Dunns Coaches.
The 247 is also an hourly service shadowing a tendered service from Canavan Travel so that will probably be changing as a result.

SPT Tendered Routes

Presumably the short 200MMC vehicles at Glasgow Citybus are ScotRail owned. No, they were leased and will be returned. I believe they have already found a new home for them.

SPT not replacing the Dunns cancellations. McNairn covering commercially. They have got a bus on loan to Dunns just now.

Also look to possibly saving some money as McNairn has Registered a 247 from Coatbridge to Cumbernauld.

I cant see SPT pulling the full 247 service? maybe they will reduced its operation to a hourly service between Kirkintilloch - Monklands

There won't be any changes to the 247 service apart from all Cumbernauld - Monklands journeys between roughly 6am to 5 pm now being operated commercially by Canavans, doesn't show on spt timetable but confirmed on Canavans Facebook page

It looks like the new 247 will interwork with the 34 at Cumbernauld and poss the 212 at Coatbridge, timings are very tight though. The 35 and 49 will also interwork
