At 6'4 and 16.5 stone my bmi says im overweight although i hardly have any fat on me!so i guess they look at it not just as a bmi figure but how healthy the person is overall

Your BMI is 28.2 well within the 33 BMI max

For a driver? The BMI of 33 I believe is a guideline for the drivers grade.
Nah, I'm a guard, so my medical wouldn't perhaps have been as thorough as it might be for a driver. It would appear that my TOC aren't too fussy on the size of their drivers - we have one (fairly new to the grade, still on the nursery roster) that would struggle to see his feet if he stood up straight, and another one that walks funny so his thighs don't chafe!!!

I spoke to the occupational health department and they told me not to worry as it was obvious I'm not a major health risk. It seems the guidelines are available to give a specific reason to fail clear health risks as opposed to catching people out.

I'm still taking the opportunity to lose half a stone though, now or never :|
