Merseyrail Family day ticket - City Line included.

Not sure if this (new?) ticket has been posted on here. It isn’t listed on the railrover.org website yet.

£13 for the day, one or two adults with children (up to 5 people in total), excludes the morning peak Monday to Friday 0631-0929, disappointingly no railcard discounts. The big surprise is that it also includes the City Line, on Northern services only.

That's very good value!

But doesn't define how far on the City Line it is valid - especially as it refers to destinations in Lancashire! (Possibly referring to Ormskirk, with the limit on the City Line being the Merseytravel boundary)

If I were Merseytravel, I’d be looking at introducing a Family Saveaway, priced at £13.05.

I note that on brfares.com, the time restrictions for the ticket are slightly different.

According to the area validity map on National Rail website it would only be valid on Northern between Liverpool South Parkway and Hunts Cross!
