MML electrification

The proposal to withdraw direct services at Wellingborough to Leicester & Nottingham and extend Thameslink to Kettering/Corby has gone down like a lead balloon locally.A protest group (Save Our Railway)has started & the Wellingborough and Kettering MPs are also not happy.

Is it planned for the Thameslink trains to Corby to use the existing mainline platforms or are new platforms being built on the slow lines?

Thameslink trains won't be going to Corby, although I understand that the plan is for full 4 tracking between Bedford and Kettering.

Not sure that this thread is entirely necessary though, there is already an MML electrification thread in the Infrastructure forum
