Evening,

I appreciate there's a lot of variables to this question, though is anybody in the know able to roughly tell me the take home pay of a MOM, on a salary of £41k-ish

Including the usual pension, union deductions. As well as Sunday working and night shift incentives.

Tried looking for answers on the forum, though can't seem to find any!

Cheers in advance

Thanks for the prompt reply. Do you happen to know what this equates to each month in take home pay. With the added shift incentives etc?

To to be honest I’ve never taken a fla month home, so wouldn’t know I’m afraid.

As a MOM your also very unlikely to take a flat month home!

Generally speaking grade 7 will add circa £10k to your basic with nights and booked Sunday turns.

As with any calculations, rough estimates can give a pretty good idea. The railway is 4-weekly pay, so divide the annual salary by 13. Then for take home pay i usually estimate 1/3 of that goes on tax and and NI, so divide by 3 and times by 2.

41000/13 = 3153.85

3153.85/3 = 1051.28*2 = 2102.56 per 4 weeks take home.

Very rough, but gives an idea of what you might get.

Looking at my P60 for 2021-2022, as a grade 6 MOM I took home £61887.96. Our roster has no booked Sundays or nights.
