Hi all,

I've recently spent some spare time making some artwork in paint. It started as a 180 set I re-done for Cab View Driver, with a black background and just the train with some people in it, then it progressed to a small station scene! It took forever to do, all 100% in MS paint no other editing software.

Heres my first one at a random name of Redmount:

Leekes of Cross Hands, Llanstisant, Tonypandy, Melksham and Redmount!

(They also own a golf club in the Vale of Glomorgan and a Grade 1 stately home, Hensol Castle - not bad for a builders merchants from the Rhondda.)

Very nice James.
Good to see others drawing trains using only MS Paint ;)

For size comparison, here's my 180;

Albeit in Midland Mainline livery ;)

Wow, I love the little pixel trains! How do you do them? (I've gathered in MS Paint :p)

Well yeah all in MS Paint. The 180 itself is from Cab View Driver but with a full re-paint as the livery was cr*p.
Also added the little people on the seats as well, wondering why the **** they have a 180 and not their usual HST!

Apart from Microsoft Paint you need the following in copious amounts:
- Patience
- Reference photos
- Build diagrams (where possible)
- A steady hand and keen eye for detail
- Approximate dimensions (i guesstimated with mine)

Here's my HST in NMT format with incomplete Mk2E track recording coach;

Now I do like that one.

Plus I also got bored today and decided to do an avatar in MS Paint. Just converted the photo to sketch and then coloured it in.

What did you convert it to sketch with?

A handy little program called Photo To Sketch.

I just converted the whole picture over then basically coloured it in with MS Paint. Turned out quite ok I think so maybe I will do some more in the future. Can be time consuming though especially the finer details. Was going to do the background as well but decided that it was better to let the power car stand out.

Should've known it wouldn't be long before First Group ventured into the shipping industry! :lol:
