Yes, the branding is purple-based, as will be the livery. Is the new EMR colour scheme predominately purple?

Just spotted my first EMR liveried vehicle, a double decker bus! Seen brifly out of the window heading round the Park Square roundabliut in Sheffield. Mainly white (with a dirty roof!), a purple train on the side and various writing. Can't seem to find a pic on the web.

Nope. Predominately "Aubergine".
Call a spade a metallic manual earth-extracting device...![]()
I guess that shows you've been to a staff briefing on that bus.Nope. Predominately "Aubergine".
I don't think Abellio have any plans to barrier Wellingborough, Kettering and Corby though.
I’ve been hunting for an official announcement for this. Is there a source you can link to please.Hitachi have been awarded the contract for the new bi-mode trains for 2022
Given that either of those train lengths would be too long for the platforms at St Pancras, assuming that 25/26 metre AT-300 vehicles are being ordered, I strongly suspect that you're going to be disappointed.I hope they will be 10 or 12 coach sets.
Nothing worse than lots of 4 and 5 coach sets using up the finite route capacity, particularly south of Bedford.

Agreed, 9 carriages seems to be the standard for longer sets, being only slightly longer than a 2+8 HST.9 x 26m seems to be pretty standard if they aren't going for shorter formations to double up.

The problem with that is that some services at St Pancras share platforms, the timetable will require work to shuffle things around in order to fit an all 9 car fleet.
I would expect a full timetable recast anyway to be honest.
Obviously subject to official confirmation this is a good step forward, and seems lower risk than the unproven Bombardier offer. I'm hoping they work pretty much out of the box.
Assuming 9*26m sets?
This gets you to just under 240m which is the spec for MML platforms.
Will there be any reduced length units because 2 coupled 5*26m trains would be too long, but great news for capacity of all 9-cars. Simplifies diagramming too I guess, which must be painful for EMT as they have 5 different intercity train variants in quite a small fleet
A real loss for Bombardier though.
Or maybe some of GWRs 5 car 802s could be sent to mml with some 9 car 802s built for gwrThe problem with that is that some services at St Pancras share platforms, the timetable will require work to shuffle things around in order to fit an all 9 car fleet.

Cue the Class 803?No, the 802s cannot keep to the 222 timings, the Hitachi's for EMR will need to have power packs in every coach.

Curious what the plan is for Long Eaton and Beeston now - assuming uniform 9 car sets some people will have to walk a very long way down the train.
Do 80x have a 25kV bus within the unit?
